I've had the pleasure of visiting Deedar twice this summer, and I can confidently say that it’s one of the best Persian restaurants in the GTA! We stumbled upon this gem while browsing on Google, and I only wish we had discovered it sooner. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere captivates you with its modern, fresh, and inviting design. It's a place where you can comfortably enjoy a meal, whether you're out for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion. The decor perfectly blends contemporary style with subtle Persian touches, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance that enhances the dining experience. The service at Deedar is impeccable. The staff, including the owner, are incredibly kind and friendly. They make you feel like a valued guest, taking the time to engage in pleasant conversations and ensuring that every detail of your dining experience is just right. Their genuine hospitality adds a personal touch that makes you feel at home. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely to die for! One of the standout features of Deedar is their dedicated Torsh (sour) kabob section, which is a rare find. The kabob torsh, made with a rich pomegranate sauce, offers a unique and authentic taste that sets this restaurant apart. The variety of options in this section alone is impressive, catering to both traditional and adventurous palates. We started our meals with a selection of appetizers, including the kashke bademjan (grilled eggplant), zeytoon parvardeh (a delightful mix of olives, walnuts, and pomegranate molasses), and masto mooseer (yogurt with shallots). Each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, making them perfect for sharing among family and friends. Over my two visits, I’ve tried the Koobideh Torsh and the kabob platters. Each time, the meats were grilled to absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor, with none of the dryness you sometimes find elsewhere. The kabobs are served with fragrant saffron rice, grilled tomatoes, and a side of pickles, creating a well-balanced and satisfying meal. In addition to the outstanding food and service, Deedar also offers a great selection of beverages, including traditional in-house Persian drinks like doogh that perfectly complement the meal. Whether you're a fan of Persian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Deedar is a must-visit. The quality of the food, the warmth of the staff, and the inviting atmosphere make it a top-notch dining destination in the GTA. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu!

Discriminating experience! Today I went to order Persian food during my break at work. I was looking through the menu to order and the lady asked me what I was looking for. Unfortunately I have an accent my Farsi is not good as my native is Kurdish. I told the lady that I wanted chicken with barg. With salad as well on the side. Waited for my order, once it was ready (I didn't check— I should have that was my fault for not looking to see what they put for me) once I got back to the office and opened it up. I saw it was koobedieh with barg. I never order khobedeh. That was a disappointment as it was during traffic hour (time from work to go pick it up) I called them up and the lady was telling me that I was lying and that I never said I wanted chicken I said I wanted khobedeh which I never even said. I told her specifically that I wanted the chicken with barg and that I didn't want soltani because it has khobedeh in it. To have the audacity to tell a customer that they are lying is absurd. Later on, we went back, and they kept telling us that we were lying and I said that I wanted khobedeh. On top of that, they were saying we were swearing when all we were doing was explaining the situation. Nowhere were we swearing at them nothing all we wanted was for them to rectify the situation— either get our money back or have them change it to chicken. And they were saying no they would not do that that we would have to pay extra if we wanted to change it. On top of that, they had the audacity to threaten my mom and me to call the police. Very shameful behaviour!! This is disgusting that our culture has to be so disrespectful towards each other. Shame on you for your awful customer service and the way you threaten and treat your customers. We did not say a single bad word. Shame on you for treating your own people like this. I don't recommend giving business to people that are so disrespectful to clients that are of their same bread. They took advantage of me! If I was white they wouldn't treat me that way. Look at the videos below and see them threatening us to call the police all because we wanted to fix things

If you're looking for a quiet place for lunch, this might just be the place for you. I suspect it's more of a dinner restaurant given that myself and my wife were the only people at lunch. A couple of tables did fill up closer to 1pm. Regardless, the food is very good. And the portions were abundant. We shared a meal of Kobideh Kebab with perfectly fluffy rice Tahdig persian style, which has a crispy rice exterior and garnishes of grilled tomatoes, peppers, and a coleslaw type salad. We also had their fried eggplant salad to start, which came with their style of pita. Very fresh and flavourful If you're thinking of going, I'd suggest heading with some friends as there are some great looking platters that would just have been too much for two of us. Service was good, although it was a little difficult to communicate. As this was our first time and we didn't want to spend a ton of money on lunch, reading the menu was difficult given that many items have high pricing, and we needed some help. The menu appears well laid out for large parties that want to share, but for a small lunch and two people, we needed some direction. It took a couple of minutes to talk through the menu with the server, English not being his first language and Persian not ours. He did eventually direct us to the Kobideh Kebab (well priced at $22). This was definitely the right meal for us, but again, communication was tough. The food arrived in good time and was HOT! If you're looking for fast service, this isn't the place for lunch. If you want great food and have the time, come here. Another note on service was that the server did not check on us during our meal, and we did not get a refill of water until the end. All in all, I'm interested in coming back with a large group for dinner to try their many other dishes.

We recently visited this restaurant, and while the evening started well, our overall experience was disappointing. The waitresses were initially very helpful and welcoming. However, after our server switched to Mehdi, the service quality sharply declined.

When looking through the menu and trying to decide what to order, Mehdi kept trying to rush us, repeatedly asking, “What do you want?” and “What do you need?” which made the experience uncomfortable. Since there was 8 of us, we ordered the platter for 10 people, which was fantastic and drool worthy! However, as we were waiting for our meal, something in the air was irritating our eyes, and other restaurant guests, including children, were also affected. Everyone was rubbing their eyes and some children wear tearing up, a group of 20 birthday party goers had the same issue. While the other waitresses tried to investigate and address the issue, Mehdi kept dismissed our concerns, insisting nothing was wrong, nothing is burning in the restaurant and everything is fine. His indifference was frustrating, and his attitude remained negative throughout the service. The other waitresses came by to let us know they increased the ventilation and opened the door because it was the onions that caused it. Again Mehdi didn’t say anything to us.

Toward the end, we were about to enjoy our birthday cake, which we brought ourselves, when Mehdi informed us of an unexpected service charge for plates and utensils. I get that’s normal for some restaurants to do that and we didn’t fight it. This hadn’t been mentioned earlier, and after debating it, we decided to take the cake home. Mehdi’s attitude suddenly improved when it was time to bring the bill, likely because he thought we wouldn’t tip.

The bill was $250 tax inc, and I tipped $10 through the card and gave an additional $40 in cash, which totaled 20%. Despite this, Mehdi incorrectly claimed I owed him $13 more, insisting there was an 18% service charge for parties of more than 8 people. However, the menu clearly stated the charge only applied to groups of more than 8, and we had exactly 8 in our party. Regardless of that we tipped 20% even though his service sucked. This left a bad impression, especially after an already frustrating experience with the service.

The food was awesome!! It was out of this world and it was more than filling and it came pretty quick. Shoutout to the hardworking chefs and waitresses.

However the service by Mehdi was inconsistent and frustrating. Mehdi’s dismissive attitude and lack of effort throughout the evening made what could have been a pleasant night fall short of expectations.

Unfortunately I won’t be coming...

25 March 2024 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My family and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating both Persian New Year and Easter Sunday at Deedar Restaurant, and let me tell you—it was an absolute feast for the senses! From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in an inviting and clean atmosphere. The warm ambiance set the perfect tone for our special occasion. The restaurant exuded a sense of comfort and sophistication, making us feel right at home. Our delightful server, Layla jaan, deserves a standing ovation. Her attentiveness and pleasant demeanor elevated our dining experience. She anticipated our needs, ensuring that tea/drink glasses were never empty and that each course arrived promptly. Kudos to Layla khanum for making us feel like honored guests! And let’s not forget Moulok khanum the manager. Her presence was reassuring, and she effortlessly orchestrated the restaurant’s operations. It’s clear that she takes immense pride in maintaining the high standards of Deedar. Bravo, Moulok Kanum! Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the food! Oh, my taste buds danced with joy. Every dish was a masterpiece. The flavors were vibrant, the ingredients fresh, and the portions generous. We savored each bite, from the aromatic saffron rice to the succulent chicken kebabs. Deedar’s culinary team truly knows their craft. The menu offered a delightful array of options, and we indulged in a variety of dishes. The chicken kebabs were tender and perfectly seasoned, while the vegetarian platter showcased a medley of flavors. And the desserts—oh, the desserts! The baklava was flaky and sweet, leaving us craving more. In summary, Deedar Restaurant is a gem. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. Whether it’s a special celebration or a casual meal, Deedar delivers on all fronts. Five stars don’t do justice to the magic they create. Thank you, Deedar, for making our day memorable. We’ll definitely be back for more culinary delights. 🍽️✨ Sherry (Sharareh) Note: This review is based on our personal experience and reflects our genuine appreciation for Deedar Restaurant recommended by a dear friend.🌷🤩
