November 13, 2021 VERY friendly staff/owner. FRESH and OMG so DELICIOUS. I have driven by this place numerous times and have also had it on my mind to drop by one day. Finally, that one day, ended up being today. This place truly is a HIDDEN GEM! Purchased several different assorted DELICIOUS Pastries, Turkish Cookies, Fresh Bread, Gozleme with Feta, Gozleme with Spinach and Ground Beef Really enjoyed all the baked goods. Selection of Jams. I got the Fig Jam. Turkish delight. Quality Service! Whatever I say, is not enough for this place. I have included some pics.

January 28, 2022 About couple of weeks ago, they opened their new store next door. I still stand by what I said couple of months ago...EVERYTHING is so fresh and delicious. They also carry high quality products from Turkey. I have added the latest pictures. Thank you 😊

August 27th, 2023 As always, everything we buy from here is so fresh! We come by couple of times a week for Acma, Burek, variety of sweets. Let's not forget about their fresh bread/buns. This business engaged in blatant discrimination against me and even resorted to physical aggression. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable and should never be tolerated.

My friend’s order was brought right away, while mine was deliberately delayed for 10 minutes. The owner, while sitting with an acquaintance at the next table, roughly pushed my chair, and did the same again when leaving. To make matters worse, because of a previous review I had written, I was told, “I’m not serving you,” and was asked to leave.

Later on, the owner’s father approached me and apologized. He explained that his son has psychological issues and that he cannot change his behavior. While I appreciated the apology, this does not excuse the rude, discriminatory, and unprofessional treatment I experienced as a paying customer.

It is important to note that in Canada, discrimination and unfair treatment of customers can fall under human rights violations. You ever drive past the same place and never venture inside? I may have driven past Gulbay Turkish Bakery a few hundred times before giving into my curiosity and checking it out.

I’m a carb lover. I truly believe it’s what keeps me a healthy size 2. So when I walked in and saw the variety of breads I was both overwhelmed and sad I was wearing jeans. Unfortunately the woman behind the counter thought I was joking when I said “one of everything” but I did convince her to sell me enough to feed myself and my extended family for the week.

I love a simit, which is basically a bagel that you can wear as a bracelet. I got one of each pogaca which a great bread vehicle for the different cheeses. I have sesame seeds all over my car because I sampled everything on my way home and have zero regrets about it. I can’t speak much on if the bread keeps well because we ate it all the same day, so take that as you wish.
