100 friends & I enjoyed it from day 1. (20 years since). It was a good Irish style bar with the mahogany wood & pub like carpet that made it feel not snobby but with quality. But as of now it is as pretentious as the food is bad. Going from a home pub to a marble & glass bar which has already over 100 of its kind in Woodbridge is pathetic. The specials like the 3$ beef ribs Thursdays to the Great Calamari which they now put with peas & whatever making it so gross & uneddible to the horrible Chicken Wings & Oily Fish & Chips. Tack on a ridiculous drink price with an LCBO right across the street. These South African owners of the franchise lost 1000+ of their best customers & ruined the only decent bar in an area of a 1000 restaurants within a 15 km radius. Thinking they were not hip enough; they destroyed the thing that made them great & followed the trend of all the bars around them & sold out.. & for all the older gen who ejoyed their food & brought so many people around & their friends & their friends friends as well as a welcoming feel removed the 20+ years of regulars & semi regulars with lots of cash in there pockets to the new generation that doesn't buy much or tip as well. It is so sad that they went so far backwards while trying to go forward just to make a few extra bucks. Shame on them for ruining a place of refuge where the food was good & the place was always full & everyone was happy to what?? Appeal to a younger crowd without money to buy much or tip well. Bad for EVERYONE ALL AROUND! Not just because they destroyed my favorite watering hole & never seeing my friends with over a 20 year old difference both ways in age but because the food is Horrible & the place is mostly empty & the staff we knew so well; jumped ship because they knew they destroyed the place but mainly because they demolished the last honest to goodness home away from home on which thouands of us felt...
Read moreThe atmosphere is nice, don't get me wrong. But the service that I personally had was terrible. We were looked over, had to ask multiple times for drinks, and got a wrong soft drink brought to us, which wasn't a big deal if it didn't take so long to receive one. We waited a very long time for any and all of our items. I had to ask a bus boy for some items. Our food was also very bad minus the nachos which were great.
I got the fried chicken sandwich tossed in the hot honey sauce and my girlfriend got the fish and chips. The chicken burger lacked in flavour and the hot in the hot honey is just Frank's. The fish and chips tasted exactly like the frozen fish you get at a grocery store.
After the terrible service and us having to get out of our seat to find our waitress to get the bills. Our tips reflected our service. When we were asked if her service had any issues, we were very polite and honest. She came back snarky and told us she had 10 tables and if the food was bad to send it back and order something else. But judging by what all four of us ordered, the rest would also be like mid level food as well. She then proceeded to tell us that she lost money because she has to tip out and pay the other staff which should be provided by the management.
I was very unimpressed with my visit and I can promise all four of us will not be coming back. Just go to five guys for better food and service. On top of that, if you have to depend on your waitress to pay the rest of the staff with tips, it's run...
Read moreGonna be honest here, food tasted good as always at a firkin pub, but the portion sizes were way too small for $16-17 a plate... 7 little wings for $17.50. Drinks were average priced, tasted okay. But on a Saturday night at a pub, I did not expect to throw out my voice trying to talk to my friends over the insanely loud music. The music was absolutely way too loud. All 10 of us were complaining about how loud it was. Ive been to many bars and pubs and I have only ever thrown out my voice while at a club with a huge DJ booth or a concert. I have no clue why the music was so loud! Even somewhere like the Warehouse on Queen street is known for having music really loud, and it's not nearly as loud as it was tonight at this pub. Disappointed that I couldn't fully enjoy my time with friends in there without literally screaming into their ears to talk to them, and half the time they still couldn't hear me and I had to repeat myself. Otherwise had an okay time, just wish I didn't have to go outside to have a conversation, and wish that my voice wasn't cracking because I decided to go out for...
