My husband and I went to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary and this was recommended to us. Unfortunately it was a VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. We love to start dinner with grilled calamari. It was awful. It had no flavour just a few grilled marks and some balsamic sauce on top. There was no salt no seasonings and it had the white gooey stuff when you cut into it. We then asked for a pizza and a pasta dish. The pizza was very bland . The sauce had no taste neither did the cheese. It was suppose to have black olives, ham, artichoke and ham. My POV is that they might be using low quality products. The pasta I asked for was orecchiette with rapini and chicken. The pasta was over cooked then it was swimming in oil and the rapini water and the chicken looked and tasted like it had been reheated a few times. At this point we didn’t even want coffee or dessert. The place needs to be redecorated the only reason we stayed is because we saw a gentleman celebrating his birthday there, so we figured let’s look past the decor and try this homemade food. We should have walked out. The service was friendly however that is certainly not enough. To finish off the evening, my husband paid for our meal it was over $100 not including coffee dessert or wine and when I looked at the bill they had overcharged us for my pasta by almost $10. Thank goodness I always look at the receipt. I’m not saying it was intentional what I am saying is always look at your bill before you pay. I will not recommend or go back here again. I should have taken pictures there but I just wanted to get out of there quickly. I did bring it home just to show my family

Don’t let the outside of this place fool you because it is amazing! Nonna size portions that leave you feeling like you just came from her house (complete with plenty of leftovers to go home with!!). We loved everything. Apps were all delicious, especially the arancini. Pizza was great. Classic wood burning oven, thinner crispy crust, lots of toppings. Pasta & gnocchi (huge portions!!!) were all delicious and lots of sauce/meat/veg depending on the chosen dish. Staff were very accommodating to our larger group and split bills without any issue. Another huge bonus that I feel is often overlooked, ALL of our food came out at the exact same time piping hot. It was magic! Already planning our next visit. Wish I took more photos - especially of the amazing apps/restaurant but didn’t want to kill the vibe! Love this little place!

The spot is not fancy, old fashioned. Service is very nice and friendly. Grilled Calamari I honestly can’t recall having worse calamari. The texture was rubbery, and the flavor was completely absent — bland to the point of being inedible. We couldn’t finish it and left about three-quarters of the dish untouched. Rabbit al Forno on a Bed of Linguini The portion was generous, but the rabbit was not as tender as it should have been, and it leaned toward dry. Disappointing, especially for a slow-cooked dish that should shine with moisture and flavor. Veal Chop with Chef Salad The veal was cooked medium-rare, as ordered, and was actually quite good – the only good part of the meal. That said, the overall experience wasn’t enjoyable. With only one dish hitting the mark and the others falling flat, I cannot recommend the place.

All I can say is Gran Gusto is amazing! I planned a family Christmas gathering for 47 people. Rick, was so helpful with everything. From going through each party menu, to answering my countless phone calls and answering all my questions, super helpful and friendly with absolutely everything. We had our event last night and everyone was super happy. All generations of an Italian family came and everyone could not stop talking about how much food there was, how delicious it was and how amazing the staff were and the price was amazing especially during the holidays. Everyone was so impressed. I’ve been to every single restaurant in Vaughan and nothing compares to Gran Gusto. We were literally treated like family and the service provided by Rick and his amazing staff Mary, Sonia and Edwardo was just outstanding. Words cannot express my sincere gratitude for making a family tradition come alive again. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! This is and will always be our go to restaurant. You guys went above and beyond and deserve to be recognized. I’ll be sure to refer everyone I know!! Everyone in Vaughan and the GTA should have their events here or even just visit for a night out. The food and service is impeccable... ps I’m as picky as they come Much...

Terrible. Had a reservation. Had been to this place a few years back and it was great. I should have left when we sat down and table was set but barely clean. We all had pizza as we heard it was great, wood oven and all. It was TERRIBLE. Loaded with so much cheese it soaked through the pizza and was in pieces on the plate hidden by additional toppings. Walked to the back and it all made sense...looked like a 14 year old making them. When I told the waitress she did nothing!terrible service with no check in during dinner. DON'T VISIT THIS PLACE. So many others in the area who actually want your business. I am Italian I know good food and this want in the middle of the pack. It was literally the worst pizza I've ever had. They should have known when all 6 of us left over have our pizzas uneaten. Even my kids thought it was bad and what kid complains of bad...
