A solid 3.5 stars ... its a decent spot to get your healthier drink or food options.
With many fast food cookie cutter spots, it's nice to see this option available. Revitasize is a fast casual spot that focuses on shakes (fresh and bottled) and Chia bowls. It does have a few more meal like options but I would say 90% of the customers dropping in were grabbing juices or a shake to go.
The place itself is fairly big for a shake spot. Easy to grab a seat if you want to stay in. It was clean and with the big windows, a bright sunny spot. For a Saturday morning, there was never a terrible wait. Only one person manned the cashier and then disappeared into the back to help with the orders. I think the number of people coming in was pretty light but at one point, there was a line up for 3 people with no one at the cashier for more than a few minutes.
For breakfast, I figure a healthy start would be would be a good way to go and they have a few bowls to choose from.
Revita Bowl - I think I misread the menu because it had acai, wild berries, banana, strawberries, and agave for each bowl. I thought I would get the acai and some berries on the bottom and more cut banana, berries, and strawberries on top ... like the image they had. All the ingredients were blended up with either a lot of ice or frozen fruit and on the bottom. It was like a fruit slushie for most of it. It was pretty cold to eat. On top it had a bit of trail mix, coconut, and a bit bananas. For $10, I dont think it's outrageous but I do understand when people say it is expensive. From a taste perspective, it wasn't too sweet and was a decent balance between natural flavour and the agave. I suspect the acai was made with frozen fruit because it didn't have that fresh berry flavour. 3.5/5
Peanut Butter Acai bowl - Another early morning bowl to wake up the body. This one looked more appealing with the cut fruit of bananas, strawberries, and kiwi on top. The total fruit was really one medium sized strawberry, less than 1 kiwi, and a part of a banana. The base definitely tasted strongly like peanut butter. It was dominant and even though it looked the same as the Revita bowl, it had a completely different boldness. For $10, it seemed steep but for freshly made fruit bowl... its not completely crazy I guess. 3.5/5
For the area, not much else is offered for this type of shakes, juices, and bowls. It's so hard to say this particular is overpriced since all shakes, juices, and bowls carry a steep premium. Sometimes you feel like the flavour just hits you and you love it. This time, it wasn't bad but it wasn't a complete love of the flavour to think I needed to...
Read moreNot sanitary at all. The staff do not wear masks, and do not follow the Covid -19 protocol. Yesterday for first time we went there to support local businesses. All customers were wearing masks , but staff did not. There were no hand sanitizer anywhere. I asked the young lady at the cash before I pay for my order.; do you wear masks while handling my order. she said yes of course, but when she went in the kitchen, I watched her and she did not wear a mask and nor did she washed her hands after handling cash. When she brought my order. I asked her again , and she lied to me and said; I was wearing one. When I told her I saw her peeling and cutting the banana without a mask. Then she said , sorry we ran out of masks. The manager was not there, and I refused to get the order and she did not give my money back. I have to go today again to see the manager. Cross the street Mcdonald , they were so clean and wearing masks, they had patio to seat and also hand sanitizer everywhere. It is sad that revitasize charging 10 box for a small muesli and banana bowl, and the management don't even bother to provide their staff with masks. I can not trust them anymore when they lie what they do in the back. All businesses are suffering from Pandemic right now because these kind of people are a bad example and do not care about hygiene to stop the spread. very disappointing experience. Next day , when I went back to get my refund. I saw the manager was wearing mask, and also they provided a hand sanitizer at the door. So the job was...
Read moreThe staff are friendly and noticeably patient as I often go back and forth deciding what to order (there's a lot of option). Since they've opened, I've tried almost the entire menu and I have genuinely enjoyed everything. I'd like to think I've met most of the staff and whenever I ask for a recommendation, it is obvious they know their stuff. When I was first recommended the Maca Power, I intended to bring it home to have, but I started and finished it on my short drive home!
For the people who are mentioning price; sure it's more expensive than your average food court smoothie, but there are so many reasons for that. Revitasize brings in fresh organic fruit daily, as opposed to companies that have fruit in the back for days at a time. They also serve much more juice than other local juice places, as I've been to other places and it's not hard to compare bottle sizes; and for those wondering, no I don't work at Revitasize and nor have I ever, I just like to really research the place my food is coming from :)
Additionally, I love how they are getting rid of plastic straws! Seriously, it's a game changer! They also provide you with a small discount for returning your bottles, which who doesn't love that?
If you're looking to check them out for the first time or just need something different to try, my personal favourites are: Sweet Kale (Juice), Tango (Juice), Reliever (Juice), Maca Power (Superfood Smoothie), Original Rice Wraps (with peanut sauce), and Sweet Potato Noodles!
I'll...
