I never write reviews, but I wanted to share my experience at spin today. My boyfriend and I had come around 9:30, to grab a quick bite of dessert. We had never been here before and were excited to try some place new. When we walked in, we were immediately told there was a "VERY long wait", though the host then proceeded to say it was 25 minutes. Idk if they were trying to make customers walk out by exaggerating how long the wait was... We added ourselves to the waitlist, and not even 10 minutes later, we got our table.
When we got to our table, the host said the server will be with us shortly. It was somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes after than interaction that we even made eye contact with another employee. The server finally came up to us and took our order. We ordered 1 dessert to share (can't remember the name but it was some cookie brownie ice cream fall feature dessert), and we asked for 2 waters. I then watched our server go straight to a massive party and bill out all of them before punching in our food. It took about 15 minutes for those waters to come to our table, and no joke, about 35 minutes (maybe more) for the dessert to come. The server was nowhere in sight either. We saw our dessert sitting at the food running table, melting, for about 7 minutes before our server finally ran it to our table... Another thing, there was a couple that had come in probably 15-20 minutes after us (around the time our server had first greeted us). They had ordered quite some time after my boyfriend and I, yet somehow received the 2 desserts they orders and their drinks over 10 minutes before us. This was incredibly disappointing as we ordered much less and much earlier than them. I am quite confident our server forgot to punch in our dessert, distracted by that other party, and never confronted us about it.
The dessert itself was fine. Nothing special. Ice cream was pretty melted, causing the cookie underneath to be really soggy. My boyfriend really didn't like it. It was honestly really disappointing after all this time waiting, and insanely over priced for what it is...
Even while eating our meals, our server was never around when we needed him. Not even to fill our waters, which remained empty for majority of the duration of us eating.
When we eventually were able to get our server's attention after a while of trying and ask for the bill, the server went to a bunch of other tables, doing things like filling their waters, grabbing their dishes, and overall really taking his time to get it for us. Probably about 8 minutes (maybe more) we spent waiting.
Overall, the service was incredibly slow and disappointing, and my boyfriend and I definitely did not feel like a priority. We both agreed we felt as though the server cared for literally every other table but as, as the night played out. Our interactions with our server were so short and rushed, we never even were told his name, and neither of us even knew he had an accent until he sad goodbye to us as we walked away....
Read moreI wanted very much to like this place. After finding it on Uber, and being impressed with the menu, we decided we would visit in person, as it was my girlfriends birthday and it is only a 15 minute drive from home.
I don't want to just dump on the place, because I think there are probably some good things about it, but unfortunately we did not have that experience during our visit.
Our food took 30+ minutes to arrive, but this in itself is not something I would ordinarily complain about - despite the food being basic - scrambled eggs are pretty easy to make. The dining room began to fill up very quickly, and it was clear the level of buisness at that moment was not expected. I feel our server tried her best to keep up, but there is really only so much one person can do. We watched tables that came after us, recieve their orders, pay their bill and be completely bussed and wiped down as we sat an additonal 20 minutes waiting for someone just to approach us to take our plates and present the bill. This never actually happened, and after finally giving up, we had to go to the front to request it overselves. It was then an additonal 10 minutes, and having to ask again, before the bill eventually arrived.
The food itself was mediocre. Nothing was seasoned. The crepe itself was the only thing that had some flavour, which is probably why the menu is built around it. We wanted to enjoy desserts also, but after having been there for over and hour and a half, being mostly ignored and having spent maybe 10 minutes of that time actually eating, we didnt have the time to invest in what we knew would be a long wait for more food and additional service.
The issue with this place is poor management. I felt bad for our waitress as she was at least trying. Some of the other staff to me seemed to lack training and an understanding of this buisness, but the real fault lies in whoever is running this store, and making these decisions.
I think when you look at the regard they show for customers and the way they react on here to negative feedback (due to their own faults), that tells you all you need to know about this place. Their decision to understaff today lost our buisness and any confidence in their brand. This is what slowly destroys a restaurant, and I don't think they will be there much longer if they don't make some changes to both their conduct and attitude.
I have been in this buisness for 30 years, and manage the responses on google for 7 restaurants currently. Ive never spoken to any customer in such an unprofessional and childish way. Had I seen those responses beforehand, Id have saved myself the drive tonight. It is a...

I visited Spin Dessert Cafe for a date night, having previously ordered takeout from here and wanting to experience the dining experience firsthand. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.
First off, the service was disappointing. It felt like the staff really didn’t want to be there. The servers were disengaged, and it was hard to get their attention, which definitely took away from the overall experience. For a place that’s supposed to be a fun dessert spot, the lack of enthusiasm from the staff was a bit of a letdown.
On a more positive note, the atmosphere was lively and energetic. The cafe was quite diverse, with a mix of couples, families, and young crowds. It felt vibrant, which definitely made it a fun place to visit if you're looking for a casual night out.
As for the food, we’ve always loved getting crepes and waffles from Spin, and it didn’t disappoint on this visit. The variety of fruits available was great, and the fact that we could customize our order made it feel more personal. Honestly, the options were so much better than Demetres (in my opinion), so I’d definitely recommend it if you're a fan of sweet crepes and waffles. That said, if you’re not a fan of Nutella, be warned—it can be quite overpowering, and the sugar hit is real! If you’re sensitive to sweetness, make sure to let them know your sugar preference when ordering.
I also tried the pistachio milkshake, which was a bit of a miss for me. It tasted more like almond than pistachio, and it was way too sweet for my liking. I appreciate that they offer a range of drinks, but the milkshake didn’t live up to my expectations. On a brighter note, I was glad to see that they offer savoury options too, which could be a great choice if you’re not in the mood for something sweet.
Now, when it comes to value, I have to say it’s on the expensive side for what you get. While the food is decent, you’re definitely paying a premium for it, and honestly, the cost to make these items is quite low.
Overall, Spin Dessert Cafe is a decent spot for dessert, but it’s not without its flaws. The food is great, but the service and the high prices definitely give you mixed feelings about the place. If you're looking for a lively atmosphere and love crepes or waffles, it’s worth a visit, but don't expect the best service or the best value for your money.
