Xpress BBQ — Restaurant in Vaughan

Before this review I wanted to give this place a fair chance because maybe the first time was a bad day. So this is my third time and thought i would leave my honest review. The first time I tried just a single box with some rice, potatoes and a chicken leg quarter. It was fresh the chicken was glistening and juicy, potatoes were pretty good rice bit bland but everything was ok. The sauce for the chicken was good. So now the second time we ordered for a larger gathering dinner for 15 guests. Was I and my guest disappointed, the chicken was very dry even the dark meat, the rice was very bland potatoes was ok. We called they wanted to make it right which was nice. So was offered a deal. Moving forward we had another gathering . We decided to use our deal and thought that because the last time wasn't good that this time would be extra care. I don't like to put any business down at all but this is in all honesty. We spent $120 for food, our chicken was dry but little better then last time, potatoes still the same. But what I was upset about is the rice was 50%on the way of being bad, the scent and taste was there i think it was sitting in a hot kitchen for hours and not proper temperature . I know my food and food handlers certificate right here 👋. The rice was ither made day before or made early morning and sitting in heat all day to get those results. When i mixed it up the smell of bad came even more. I couldn't feed this to my guest which possibly could make them sick. That whole tray went in the garbage which is such a shame and waste of money and food. This review isn't to say to stay clear from this restaurant because it has its good reputation. This review is to give honesty from my behalf and my experience, and for the restaurant to be more careful because that could have been a lawsuit. I am usually not the person who writes reviews but omg this place definitely deserves to be written about. I was out with my husband today and since we are approaching our wedding anniversary we decided to drive by our wedding hall. Right next to our hall we saw xpress bbq sign and we both decided to check it out. Though its a small place, it is amazing. Their chicken is so tasty and freshly cooked. Alot of the other places we been to you can tell the chicken is reheated but damn these guys def make their chickens fresh and delicious. The veges were also light and perfectly made. We are both in love with the food here. They make their own sauce which is fantastic. Its a must try. The girl working here, i think her name is jamie. Omg shes such a sweetheart. When we walked in she asked us to have a seat outside once we ordered and she served us our food. Mind you this place is not a restaurant where they serve you like this. She made our lil date night so special. We had a nice chat about her beautiful hair and products she uses #devacurl. Shes very friendly and doesnt make you feel uncomfy at all.
