SO disappointed. I ordered the Crown special chop Suey. Three small pieces of barbecue pork, NO beef (as listed on ingredients) an over abundance of very large chunks of celery. The steamed rice was both clumpy and cold. I left a VERY generous tip as the young lady at the counter and who took my order was a delight, polite, articulate and lovely. Then I get home and open my dinner. Unfortunately I shall not return. Please do better Crown Palace.
EDITED REVIEW
Kudos to the new owners. My initial experience (above) was disappointing. After writing my review, I received a call from the sweet young lady I dealt with. (Apologies I didn’t catch your name). She I asked how they could make things better. I was sent a new order which looks wonderful. As well I told the lovely delivery fellow that the online menu I ordered from had beef, zucchini and mushrooms listed. Evidently they did not realize this and will remove the old menu. I so appreciate being heard and Crown Palace not just watching their reviews but taking positive action. I wish you all the best in your new venture. May your...
Read moreI used to order from Crown Palace a lot a couple of years ago, and mosty enjoyed it, so I felt confident that it would be tasty when I ordered it tonight. I was so disappointed with the food, I'm not sure if they changed owners or what, but I was very let down. I will say that it came quickly, really quickly to my house, which made me suspicious off the hop. I mean it took 10 minutes to get to my house from the time I ordered it, so before I even dove in I thought it was likely not going to be very good. The almond breaded chicken was hard, over done, and some of the batter didn't even have chicken in it. The spring rolls had a funny taste, and the dry garlic pork was just sad. The pot stickers were passible, and the chowmein was okay, but certainly not the best I have had. I sure regret spending the $50. Anyway, maybe it was just a one off sort of night, but I won't be ordering from there again. Also the delivery driver, was less...
Read moreI don't like posting bad reviews for restaurants but we feel it is necessary in this case. We were looking forward to ordering from this restaurant, but truly regretted it.
We ordered the Calamari, the Lemon Garlic Prawns, the Palace Special Chow Mein and the War Won Ton Soup. The Calamari was all batter and burning hot to eat. The Garlic Prawns were also way over battered. The Palace Special Chow Mein had three prawns and not one bit of the other meats listed and served in a small size portion bowl. The War Won Ton was really the only thing that was acceptable and our bill was $72.
We both also got horrible stomach aches mostly because of the grease that was on the deep fried Calamari and the Lemon Garlic prawns. I would not recommend ordering from here. The inside of the pick up area is so dirty and broken tiles, I imagine the back area is not...
