The extended Vietnamese family members you need in your life are here, don't let the outside deter you, you CAN afford to eat here. This place is Mom's home cooking meets your favorite Phở and noodle joint in what feels like a movie set. It's the first time you go to your Vietnamese friends house as A kid and discover there's more than spaghetti and burgers. Love isn't an ingredient that comes cheap, but it's heaped on to every plate here.
Healthy, Fresh, Great portions and the place is the cleanest restaurant I've seen in BC. The 18$/20$ dishes are worth the price but they have add ons too so you can get small Phở or nibbles when you need the extra oomph. It's well worth every penny in Victoria, BC where competition is on every corner. Vietnam house Victoria is a powerful experience if you want to appreciate the amazing space, people, taste and culture.
20$ and their main dishes are the perfect size for a nutritious meal after a day of biking Victoria. 35/40$ and you can comfortably get what I considered to be a lot of food as someone people call "Big Guy" a lot.
Whether it's a coffee and spring rolls on the go, a protein, fiber and flavor packed noodle bowl or a beautiful Phở broth for the chilly winter air this place has the cure to your Vietnamese food lovers, noodle bowl nibblers and fresh food friends needs.s
Looking forward to when I can...
Read moreI stumbled upon this gem because I moved in around the corner. Now, I LOVE pho. It’s actually my favourite food of all time, so obviously I was gonna check the scene in my new neighbourhood. Not only is their soul THE BEST I have ever had, the rest of the menu is spectacular as well.
The service is super friendly, and they really go the extra mile when they can. One time I called to do a take out order when they were closed. The chef / owner / dad (it’s a family run business) was in doing some work though so he picked up the phone. After letting me know they were closed (and hearing the slight disappointment in my voice) he asked what I wanted. He then prepared a rare been pho for me anyway ❤️
I’ve since moved away from that neighbourhood, but the family that owns it still recognizes me when I stop in :)
One more fun tidbit that I love about Vietnam House - they’re often playing instrumental jaws in the dining room, which is such a cute touch to the ambiance.
Highly recommend. Bring your family. Bring your friends. Or just pop in by yourself, which is what I do quite often.
Thanks for feeding me nutritious and delicious food...
Read moreWe came here based on the vicfoodguys instagram post. First of all, if it is any deterrent of coming here, there is no parking. We parked right out front which wasn’t even a legit parking spot as it was faded yellow curb. Me and my boyfriend each had a bowl of pho and he had a sub. I asked for mine with no cilantro. The waitress brought out a plate of bean sprouts, chile peppers, basil leaves, and lime. I was impressed when I saw the portion of bean sprouts was enough to share without asking for more. When the bowl of soup was brought out to me they had substituted it with green onions which I thought was quite nice. Soup base was sort of oily which I was not used to seeing in pho. Fast forward to eating. The soup base was kind of weird-mainly because of the oil I believe. And I tasted cilantro. It was like they had forgotten the fact I didn’t want cilantro and put green onions in to cover up the remaining cilantro that was in the soup. All in all it wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. Food wasn’t great enough to outweigh the no...
