When you stumble upon a place that not only welcomes you with open arms past its closing time but also lets you tweak your order to your liking, you know you've found a gem. This restaurant was just that—a pleasant surprise on all fronts. The staff were exceptionally gracious, allowing us to order and linger beyond the usual hours without even a hint of rush. I decided to splurge a little and went for the enoki with steak and shrimp, a decision I didn't regret. Yes, it was on the pricier side, but the taste was sublime. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection, the shrimp were succulent, and the gnocchi added a delicate and pillowy touch that tied the whole dish together. The creamy sauce draped over the ingredients was rich and satisfying, with just the right amount of garlic and seasoning, and a sprinkle of cheese that added a lovely finishing touch. The Dad's Old Fashioned Root Beer was another high point—refreshing with a nostalgic twist. It's not often that you find such an authentic taste that complements a meal so well. As for the ambiance, it was as comforting as the meal. The restaurant had an old-world charm with its dark wood furniture and vintage decor, like the large, ornate pot that stood like a silent guardian of the establishment's traditions. It felt like stepping back to a simpler, more relaxed time. Our food arrived promptly, contributing to the overall positive experience. It's definitely a place I'd visit again—100 percent. The combination of the welcoming environment, the ability to personalize your order, and the outstanding flavors makes it a standout. It's a spot you leave with the intention of returning, eager to taste the next delightful dish they have to offer.

My husband and I have been coming here for many years, and it has always been a favorite of ours. Hadn't had the chance to go since last year, we read some negative reviews and were debating whether we should celebrate our anniversary here again or not. Based on our past experiences, we gave it a try anyway, and it was wonderful. We tried the Shrimp Zafferano and the Arrabiata pasta dish with a side Caesar salad. We were promo'd a vanilla Sunday to share as a token of our anniversary celebration. The food was piping hot, which we appreciated (something that was negative in other reviews). We were very pleased with the portions and have always left with a doggy bag. The server was very friendly and went above and beyond. An unexpected emergency came up, and our server had to leave in a hurry to take care of a missing item for their catering team. She made sure we were happy and content prior to her departure. Atmosphere could use a bit of a face lift, very dark inside. Overall, it was a great experience. We will happily return as this remains as one of our favorites.

I used to love going to this restaurant with my family. We would sit in for special occasions or get takeout usually a few times a month when we felt like eating in. The food is great so I am not knocking that but the customer service is very poor. My most recent experience happened in December 2018 when I decided to take my boyfriend in for his first time at Ennios. I had talked about it several times and we were very excited to go. We got seated in a corner seat by the front door which was freezing cold because of the draft from the window. We were OK with this and were not going to complain about the seat. We were waiting for a waiter to come to our table to fill our water and take our drink orders, but this never happened. The waitress had gone to the table beside to bring them their meals and the table behind to see if they needed anything but had not come by to bring us water. I said to my boyfriend we will wait 10 minutes, and then after 10 minutes I said we would wait another 10 and if nothing we would be walking out of there. Well after 20 minutes of waiting for someone to even come by our table to ask if we wanted water, we were furious. We had been seated and then totally forgotten about. It was some of the worst customer service I had experienced at a restaurant to date. It was definitely no busier then a normal night (as I said I have gone several times so I have seen it busy and seen it slow). I am writing this review in the hopes that the restaurant will see it and do much better. I would hate for another customer to feel shafted the way we did. We walked out of the restaurant and sad to say I will not be going back here to this location because that experience soured me so much. Ennios, please do a lot better - at least come by the table to bring water within 5-10 minutes and let the customers know you are busy or will be...

Recently had the pleasure of dining at Ennio's Pasta House in Waterloo with my wife and a dear friend, and I can't help but share the wonderful experience we had.

First and foremost, our server truly elevated our dining experience. They were not only friendly but also incredibly attentive throughout the entire meal. It's not always easy to find a server who strikes the perfect balance between being present and allowing guests to enjoy their meal, but our server at Ennio's did just that. Their warm demeanor added to the overall positive ambiance of the restaurant.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food. Ennio's Pasta House truly impressed us with the quality and flavor of their dishes. From the appetizers to the main courses, every bite was a delightful explosion of taste. The menu offered a diverse range of options, and each dish seemed to be crafted with care and attention to detail. Whether you're a fan of classic Italian cuisine or looking to try something new, Ennio's has something for everyone.

The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant provided the perfect backdrop for our evening. It's clear that the team at Ennio's pays attention to creating a welcoming environment for guests. The combination of excellent service, delectable food, and a charming ambiance made our dining experience truly memorable.

I highly recommend Ennio's Pasta House to anyone in the Waterloo area looking for a fantastic dining experience. It's a gem that exceeded our expectations, and I'm already looking forward to...
