If there was ever a time I wished I could give a negative star rating, it would be for my experience at Gladiator Burger. Not only was the food lackluster and the service atrocious, but the overall ambiance was also far from satisfactory.
One of the most frustrating aspects was the blaring music coming from the kitchen. Instead of creating a pleasant dining atmosphere, it was loud and distracting, making it difficult to enjoy my meal or hold a conversation with my dining companions. It felt more like I was in a rowdy bar than a burger joint, and it significantly detracted from the dining experience.
Furthermore, it's baffling how the kitchen staff could blast music at such a volume while churning out subpar dishes. It speaks volumes about their priorities when they prioritize their own entertainment over the comfort and satisfaction of their customers.
The disappointment continued with the food itself. I ordered their signature Gladiator Burger, hoping for the best. What I received was a sad excuse for a burger. The patty was overcooked and dry, lacking any semblance of flavor. The toppings seemed haphazardly thrown together, and the bun was soggy, as if it had been sitting in grease for hours. It was a disappointment from the first bite to the last.
But what truly set this experience apart from others was the abysmal customer service. Generally the staff seemed disinterested and barely acknowledged my presence, let alone offering any assistance with the menu. And don't even get me started on the manager. Despite my attempt to address my concerns about the food quality, they brushed me off with a careless attitude, displaying a complete lack of professionalism.
However, amidst this sea of incompetence, there was one shining beacon of hope...the young blonde woman who took my order. She was the only one who seemed genuinely friendly and attentive, making an effort to ensure that my experience wasn't a total disaster. It's a shame that her excellent service was overshadowed by the incompetence of her colleagues and superiors.
Overall, my experience at Gladiator Burger was nothing short of disappointing. From the subpar food to the atrocious customer service, it's safe to say that I won't be returning anytime soon. Save yourself the trouble and seek your burger fix elsewhere.
EDIT: by the way... all these 5 star reviews are pushed by staff and especially the manager. me and my family were asked several times to leave a 5...
Read moreIt all started with their main doors being locked just after opening in the thunderstorm, making us run around the side of the building in the downpour to get in. We were told that the person with the door key for the main door was not there yet.
We just had gotten in and were trying to pick a seat and take our wet jackets off and the server was just on top of us with menus. When we said we needed a minute she kept telling us about the menu. We said just a minute and she left.
We placed our order and got the food. The food was hot and fresh. The major concern was that the grease had soaked through the bottom bun making it inedible. There was a massive puddle of grease under it.
We were happy to just eat around it and continue on, but when the server asked how it was we just told her about it. She came back after speaking with the kitchen and told us it was meat juice. We told her that it is not juice, but grease. She then went back to the kitchen and didn’t return.
We finished most of the rest of our food when the server came back. We asked for a box but were still picking at the other food. She then came back and asked if we were done. We said no, but she put our garbage on our tray and went to take it. We told her we said no. She went to put the tray down and take our garbage off.
The kitchen staff then came out and tried to tell us how that’s their best server and they sell a lot of burgers so they want to make it right. We told them why are they asking now? We’re don’t now. Why didn’t they ask us to fix it earlier? He kept going on about how they want to fix it, give us new food, food to go, etc. we didn’t want more food or food to go, we just finished.
He then said he could give us store credit. But could not reach his supervisor to get the code.
So it just ended.
If they had not come up to us, and we just dealt with the bottom bun being greasy it would have been better. All their missteps of customer service is what really turned it from a decent experience into garbage.
Rest your burgers, let the grill grease drip off before you bun them, and actually listen to your customers and fix issues...

Hoping to have a filling meal before my midterm, I went down to Gladiator Burger and Steak (222 Albert St, Waterloo, ON N2L 3T6). A hamburger joint with the highest quality and fresh ingredients, this eatery is a go-to when I crave a burger in Waterloo.
Onto what I ordered! This time, I got the Commander Burger - a towering masterpiece fit for a gladiator's feast! Picture this: a mighty Prime Beef patty, wielding its savory prowess, topped with crispy beef bacon, a shield of sharp Canadian cheddar cheese, and a helmet of caramelized onions. Amidst the battle, tomatoes and lettuce stand as stalwart allies, while pickles add a zesty kick, ensuring a victorious flavor triumph. But what truly elevates this culinary gladiator is the Gladiator aioli, a sauce worthy of Caesar himself, uniting the flavors in a harmonious alliance fit for the grandest of arenas. With each bite, I felt like a culinary gladiator, conquering hunger with every flavourful strike.
If you ever find yourself in Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, or Waterloo looking for a feast worthy of a warrior, look no further than Gladiator Burger. Embrace your inner gladiator and savor the victory of indulging in the ultimate burger and/or steak experience - victoriously recommended!
