When 3 friends with a passion for fried chicken come together, you just know that great things are about to happen. And that's exactly how Juicy Birds (220 King St N Unit F, Waterloo, ON N2J 2Y7) came about! A growing burger franchise that has been culminated over years of culinary expertise, this spot is a go-to for anything fast food!
Onto what I ordered! The Hot Honey Sandwich was a flavor-packed delight, with perfectly crispy deboned fried chicken drenched in spicy honey for a sweet and fiery kick. The pickled jalapeños added a zesty punch, while the creamy ranch balanced the heat, all encased in a soft, buttery brioche bun. However, that was just the beginning. The GOAT Burger truly lived up to its name as the Greatest Of All Time, Nashville spiced deboned fried chicken, coleslaw, sweet pickles, JB's come back sauce on a brioche bun!
The sides made the meal even better! Offered in multiple flavours, we ordered the chicken wings in the Honey Buffalo flavour for an extra sweetness kick. Meanwhile, the chicken tenders offered a contrasting savoury flavour with a tender and succulent deboned chicken. The fried mac and cheese was utterly gooey and delicious, making the meal utterly filling. And yet, we still found room for a delicious chocolate cheesecake, made in collaboration with the Cheesecake Factory! Utterly luscious and heavenly - could I have asked for more?

We ordered 2x GOAT fried sandwiches with no spice and they had too much kick for me. I could only eat a third of it due to the heat. My partners was a little less spicy but still had kick. Nothing about the description suggested anything spicy which is why we ordered this item. Plus ordering options included NO spice as an option.
Also ordered fries and a poutine as the sides. The poutine tasted like chunky canned gravy that wasn’t warmed throughout. fries were undercooked, less cooked than the other side of fries we ordered. The gravy sat on top of the fries rather than drip down. Definitely not worth the heafty up charge.
We ordered for pickup and had it home within minutes so it didn’t sit at any point or wait for delivery. With all the other fried chicken place is popping up, we aren’t likey to return to this one despite it being the closest to us.
On a sidenote, the two staff members that served us were very kind, helpful...
Read moreWent in today for the first time around 1:30. Was really looking forward to the banana pudding, as this was the main reason for our visit. Truthfully, we were between this and our regular spot, just up the street. The menu showcasing banana pudding won us over. We ordered two 19.99 box meals and a pudding. It took approx 15 mins. Unfortunately, even though I was charged for the banana pudding, it didn’t make its way into my bag. I drove across town from Cambridge, and made it back home from Waterloo before noticing. I attempted to call the restaurant, and there was no response. It doesn’t seem they have any sort of customer service contact on their website. The sauces were quite good, and we enjoyed the seasoning on the chicken. The breading, however, slid right off the chicken and was lacklustre in crunch. The fries were unfortunately soggy and semi undercooked. Overall, definitely disappointing to not have an item you paid for, and there are better hot chicken places...
