The most awaited Royal Paan finally arrives in Waterloo. Closer to our place!! 🤘🤘🤘
This week we had a chance to order take out from the Royal Paan newly opened Waterloo location. We are so glad that they brought it here and maintained the same quality of food and service.
Starting with the location, they have opened up on the busy University Ave and Do Not have too many parking spaces available. I wanted to take out half star for that but couldn't. Also, not able to locate handicapped accessible parking due to the design of the plaza. Once again, requesting the plaza owner to upgrade the plaza design which we were informed is very old.
There is handicapped accessible entrance missing but this aligns with the old plaza design. The franchise owner has gone to great lengths and ordered special sloped cut pieces to install at the entrance. This will replace the small step at the entrance which is a safety hazard and also allow to install handicapped accessible entrance button. Here they get the half star back.
The inside is super clean quite new since the have only opened less than a month ago. They have a common washroom and a handicapped accessible washroom. The common washroom was clean and handicapped washroom shall be commissioned upon installation of the entrance.
As for the food... They have a variety of options available including Eggless Vegetarian Pastries of various flavors. Please note that it was told to us they have a shelf life of 5 days. Always ask when is the next order coming to get fresh ones.
We were also told they have the same cook as Fairway Location which explains the consistency in the taste.
We ordered Pav Bhaji and Noodle Burger and both were of great quality.
Their Pav Bhaji is one of the best. Spicy and really great taste. The quantity is pretty good too, you can order 1 extra Pav and still eat lavishly.
The Noodle Burger also maintained its taste from the Kitchener location. Not too spicy but juicy enough to melt in your mouth.
The service was really fast and the order was ready in almost 10 mins. We met the owner at the counter who is very humble and explained how they are trying to improve the taste even better.
This is definitely going to be our regular take...
Read moreI had a bad experience with customer service and honesty in pricing. Taste was really nice and really no doubt about that.
I ordered Royal kesar badam shake which was specified as 8$ large in menu but in billing, they billed for 10$. After payment only they gave the receipt that says 2$ extra for Rabari (which is my option to add or not)...
In menu it is clearly mentioned that Only for Rabari shake it is 2$ extra on top of large 8$ of normal royal shake.. without evening asking, the customer service guy added it and charged 10$ for each shake...
After payment when I asked about it, he was arguing that royal shake by itself is a rabari shake and thats y 2$ extra. He was arguing infront of all other customers which was kind of not nice. He asked me to see and understand the menu well instead of just a simple way by accepting that it is added by mistake 🤷♂️ thats really not very nice....
Normal customer visits for shake is let's say 300 a day. So does that mean 600$ each day is charged without even the consent of the customer...?????
My point is, if he added by mistake, it is okay to accept and look for what to do. Or he can ask us if we need to add it as an add on which would cost 2$ extra...
Read moreA few days ago, I dined out at the newly opened Royal Paan branch in Waterloo. I had been looking forward to visiting here for quite some time, having heard that it was a pure vegetarian restaurant that would bring the flavor of Indian street food right around our Canadian neighborhood. After visiting here, I have to say - I was not disappointed! The restaurant truly lives up to the claim of allowing us to savor the flavor of Indian street food.
Let's get on with what I ordered! Pictured above is the Raj Kachori. Aptly named in Hindi as the King of Kachoris, this dish consists of a delicious fried dough stuffed with lentils and topped up with a delicious mix of yoghurt, chutney, diced tomatoes, sev, and the perfect combination of spices! With a commendable portion-size (it is king-sized after all!) and a delicious taste, each bite brought me back to my childhood, savoring the street food of Mumbai. Absolutely delightful and completely satisfying!
