After a while of thought, i decided to make a review. The food quality is not consistent. Though it was a little costly, the food had been alright, and also the woman(boss) had been a very nice person until i mentioned today for the first time that the meat in the "pork bone soup" tasted kinda old. She suddenly turned back at me saying 'no one has ever complained it , and i think its just you'. I understand that she is just a person who can also be insulted by a complaint, but....she is the boss of a restaurant. Her behaviour was not professional at all. I was very very disappointed. If anyone would still go and try once , and if it ended up bad, i guess you should might as well give a review, since she seems very confident that no one had been complaining about her food.
One thing i liked was that they did not mind about not getting tips. I give a credit for this since typical korean restaurants force u to pay tips.
Read moreNuri Village is a delightful discovery in the Waterloo-Kitchener area. With so many new Asian restaurants opening, it can be tough to know which ones are worth visiting, but this place stands out. The restaurant is clean, the service is respectful and friendly, and the food is excellent.
Highlights include their flavorful seafood pancake, hearty stews, Bulgogi, and perfectly prepared Dolsot Bibimbap. For lunch, they offer delicious bento boxes and a great delicious selection of sushi.
This summer, Nuri Village has introduced a truly delightful and refreshing treat: bingsu—a heavenly combination of finely shaved milk ice, creamy ice cream, fresh fruit, and a drizzle of sweet, tangy sauce. The flavors come together beautifully, creating a light and satisfying indulgence that’s perfect for warm days.
What makes Nuri Village truly special is not just the food, but the care behind it. The chefs and staff, with their gentle, courteous manner, deliver an experience that feels both thoughtful and authentic. You’ll leave feeling full and happy, yet never at the expense of quality.
If you find yourself in the area, I wholeheartedly encourage you to visit Nuri Village and treat yourself—you won’t be...
Read moreIt's an adequete Korean restaurant. Below is more detail, but for a quick summary, it's cheap and has great selection but the food quality is not up to par.
Pros: It's got affordable prices. Perfect for any broke university student craving Korean. The basic bone soup is $10, which is a lot cheaper than most other restaurants. Lots of variety. Their menu is a couple pages long, and filled with various dishes. Tons of appetizers, noodles, soups, etc. Korean! It's Korean cuisine. Cannot rate authenticity (haven't eaten at much) but meals come with nice side dishes and taste authentic enough to my untrained tongue.
Cons: Some food options were not up to par. A friend had the seafood pancake, and the green onions were basically raw. I've gotten underseasoned food here, and food with very little portions of meat. It may be because of the vast menu, but sometimes the food strikes well, sometimes it's alright, and sometimes it goes below my...
