Williams Fresh Cafe — Restaurant in Waterloo

After reading several terrible reviews about the service at this diner, I decided to still give it a chance, and oh boy did I regret doing that. I came in with an open mind and a hungry tummy. The young lady at cash stared coldly at my friend and I we walked in. Usually, a smile or even a “hello” would be the usual greeting one would receive when walking into an empty room. We walked up to cash and asked if we could have a table (not aware that we have to order up front). After ignoring our greeting, she started at us for a few seconds before rudely saying “you know you have to pay first right?” My friend and I instantly got a gut wrenching feeling - SO UNWELCOMING AND DISRESPECTFUL. We politely said we would look at the menu and let her know when we were ready. We left. It was so disturbing being treated this way after having read all of the reviews. There was not a second thought about staying as such an atmosphere is blatantly off putting. The customer service is simply terrible granted that I now can confirm all of the other reviews under this location. I would not recommend coming here, unless you want your day ruined by rude employees!

Walked in here to order breakfast a few days ago. There was only one other set of people in and full staff in the back. I stood at the counter and the guy working told me to wait just A minute and then went into the back. A girl was also out front and attended to drive thru even though I was there before and making me wait after cleaning something infront of me. Still nobody came to take my order while the staff was talking in there back kitchen area and the one girl upfront was serving drive thru. Continued to wait until I got frustrated that I was there for 6 or 7 minutes and it wasn’t busy. Staff were talking instead and nobody cared to serve me. The place is also very dirty not well maintained. I don’t know why I even tried this location as I always go to the university plaza one and have no issues. I walked out got in my car and went to university plaza Williams and had a great breakfast with fast clean service. Unbelievable that university plaza location is super busy and the other is dead and it still can’t provide service they can up the road. This location should be closed down and staff fired. I would like to file a complaint about a front desk staff member at Williams Fresh Cafe located at 33 University Avenue.

My five friends and I went there to place an order, and she displayed a great deal of hostility toward the women in our group.

When the women were placing their orders, she completely ignored their needs, smiling and chatting with the men next to her, asking them what they wanted. It wasn’t until one of the women could no longer tolerate it and said, “I’m the one ordering now, why do you keep asking him?” that the male customer awkwardly pointed out, “It’s not my order…” Only then did she finally acknowledge the woman.

Later, she completely ignored the woman’s order. When the woman wanted to order more food, she saw the woman standing at the front desk but made her wait for over ten minutes before she came to assist. Her attitude was extremely poor and discriminatory toward women.
