I stopped by Tut’s Egyptian Street Food in Waterloo, on its opening day. This new branch brings the same bold Egyptian street food vibes as their Toronto spot. The service was impressively quick for opening day—my order was up in under 6 minutes. I got the Ferakh sandwich (grilled chicken with onion and coriander), Soguk (beef sausage with caramelized onion and mustard mint sauce) and the Dukka fries—both were packed with flavor, and the in-house baked bun was soft and fresh. That garlic sauce? Absolute perfection. The staff were friendly and handling all orders like pros. Only downside: seating’s a bit tight, so it might be tricky during peak times. Prices are solid—&13.99 for a two-sandwich combo with fries and a drink.

Different flavours for sure. Sandwiches are good, but too small for the price. I got the fried chicken, which tasted like popeye's but better, overall decent but not very special 6.5/10. The beef sausage is slightly better imo, but still pretty mediocre 7/10. The grilled chicken is really good, 8.5/10. I just think that food is pretty good, but for the price, the taste and quality doesn't show. It's still worth trying. Might come back. Also, food was surprsingly kinda slow.

Tasty food, and not too expensive compared to the sandwiches from fast food chains, given its freshness. I liked the variety of options to choose from. The sitting is a bit small, but it makes sense given the market here might be small and mostly, ppl would like to take it out. I would definitely come back again.

The food was great but my problem was with their service. I ordered online five meals worth 100+ CDN. I asked for no tahini shawerma for my son because he’s allergic. It was a pick up order so I took the food and went home. When I opened the meals, I found that they replaced my son’s shawerma meal with sausage w/mustard sauce. I called the restaurant to see what happened. The person who answered the phone told me that he asked his manager what to do with the “tahini” problem and he told him to replace the shawerma with sausage. I told him but you never called me to ask me if I want sausage or not. He replied that he’s busy now preparing 100 sandwiches.

My son doesn’t eat sausage or mustard sauce so he ended up not eating his food.

Although I like their food but their way of handling the situation and the rude response...

I recently dined at Tut's Egyptian street food, and it was a fantastic experience! The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, making sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The highlight of my meal was the Ferakh grilled chicken—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and absolutely delicious.

The restaurant itself has an amazing vibe, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The location is great, making it easily accessible, and the cleanliness of the space was impressive. Overall, I highly recommend Tut's Egyptian street food for anyone looking for great food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be...
