Mimo is a decent little joint tucked away on Spruce Street, just a bit further down from King Tin if you're coming from the direction of Columbia Street. We got the Pad Thai, House Fried Rice, Massaman Curry, Pad See Eww (Spring Rolls & Tom Yum - not pictured) I would say most things tasted good. The Pad See Eww needed more sauce, it was a bit dry but good flavour. The Rice was delicious and so was the Curry. My partner liked his Pad Thai as well. They fell short with the Tom Yum, it just needed more of that bold flavour that makes your palate sing. The pork spring rolls tasted like carrots and is loaded with mostly vegetables but for the price of $6 for 2 you can't really expect much better, just needed less carrots because it's all I could taste. Everything else though was good. It's a bit dark and cold inside the restaurant so I'd say it could use some love to bring some warmth to the atmosphere. The young lady at the counter first walked past us but they were busy and once we had her attention she was incredibly friendly, polite and accommodating. She did a great job explaining some menu items and was very nice. Hats off to the one Chef we saw back there just going at it as they do get busy with walk in students and their daily specials. Thank you for a lovely meal Mimo. I look forward to seeing you continue to thrive in Waterloo.

Mimo Thai in Waterloo is a small restaurant located on Spruce street. We went on a Thursday evening and dined in. We ordered first before we grabbed a seat. You get a $2 discount if you’re a student and they have daily specials that are listed on their website. The curries were on sale today ($13.5). We got the Tom Kha (a coconut based soup), it was only $7. I would not recommend it to someone that doesn’t like coconut since it’s very strong. We always get the yellow curry when we come here, the portion size is big and the curry is very fragrant. It has a little kick to it but I would say it’s more of a low level spice. It is our favourite dish from here. A new dish we tried was the Pad Krapow - Basil. It was a bit spicier because of the chilis but it was so delicious. The dish was also very fragrant and the portion was huge, we had quite a bit leftover even after eating a lot of it. Finally, you can’t miss out on their Thai iced tea. It is so concentrated and creamy, the perfect consistency. They don’t always have it because it sells out so grab one if you get the chance! The only downside is their hours, it is kind of weird so make sure you call them in advance to check if they are open but you can also order through Skipthedishes. Overall, I highly recommend Mimo Thai. The staff are always so kind and welcoming.

I usually don’t leave reviews but I had the worst experience here and feel like I have to. I ordered from Uber Eats and picked up myself. They’ve already upped the menu price on Uber Eats. But that’s ok, it’s listed on the webpage and I am aware. I requested extra veggies and sprout in the notes for my pad kee mao. With no notification they put an adjustment on my bill charging $2.5 more. There is no way for me to decide if I accept this charge or not. No extra charge add on information is listed on the webpage anywhere. And what do I get for the 2.5 dollar extra veggie charge? 5 pieces of broccoli, 5 pieces of green pepper and 6 pieces of red pepper, and a few sprout. That’s it. Isn’t that what ppl usually get with the pictures posted online? Plus the green pepper went bad, not eatable at all. The noodles are not fried properly, some of the noodles are still plain white. For two fired noodle takeouts, I am paying almost $40. Oh, and how was the second dish? The pad thai is extremely dry and sweet. Can’t even finish it and half went to trash. And many mentioned parking issues of course. I do not recommend this place at all. Don’t waste your money.

Been to Mimo Thai numerous times. My husband and I go at least once a week for their Friday Pad Thai special. Their food is always great. However our biggest complaint is towards one of the server. We have been served by 2 servers . One always is friendly and quick . The other server is a taller female , and every time we walk into the store and see her we want to walk back out again. She would always take everyone’s order all at once and then serve all the food at once, by the time we get our food, it has been sitting there for well over 15-20 mins. We know it is not the kitchen’s fault because the food comes out quickly. When I come here for lunch I always end up getting my food 45mins to 1 hour in.... Today the same thing happened and we want to voice our frustration with this specific server. We came tonight on Jan 10th and got our pad Thai special, we came in at 6:00pm and left the store with our take out at 7pm... we waited 1 hour for our food. We also ordered 2 Thai ice teas , but because there wasn’t any left, she didn’t tell us she did not have enough for 2 , instead filled the cups with 80 % of ice and watered down our Thai ice teas completely . We continue to support Mimo Thai and the great food you have, but recommend you re- evaluate your server as this has happened every time we encounter that server. Overall food is 5/5, service is 5/5 for the shorter female server, but when you get the taller female server , just don’t bother I wouldn’t even give...
