Village View Restaurant & Buffet — Restaurant in Welland

We were thrilled to have a true Pakistani restaurant open its doors in Welland. With a population of just 55K, it felt like a cosmopolitan endowment to our small and growing community. Without taking away from the other Asian restaurants in Welland who each have their own merits, Village View truly stands out.

We have ordered from their à la carte menu, eaten from the lunch buffet and savoured the halwa puri, as well as had them cater for 30 people, with delivery to our home and have been very, very satisfied.

From its ambiance, to service, to food menu, to authentic taste, Village View is our favourite.

Ambiance: There is a focus on the ambiance in the restaurant. It is bright and airy. The décor is tasteful with a touch of both modern and rural, demonstrating its eastern roots. The seating is plush and comfortable. Tables, cutlery and crockery are of very good quality, and all is maintained squeaky clean, which gives one the impression that the owners want the customers to feel that it is not just the food but also the atmosphere that is important.

Service: The service is outstanding. From the initial greeting at the door, to the attentive and respectful staff, we found that Village View exemplifies eastern hospitality.

Food Menu: The menu selection is large and diverse, with all the regular favourites and then some. In fact, one of the small problems in eating at Village View is deciding what to order. No minor part of the visit is taken in making up one’s mind. There literally is something for everyone. The dishes are freshly prepared, served steaming hot and quite substantial. The lunch/(and also dinner we assume) buffet selections are plentiful and generous, with a wide array of familiar sub-continental culinary dishes, salads and desserts. While there is a limited selection of seafood, the vegetarian food choices more than makes up for it with long list of popular dishes.

Taste: The cooking is authentic Pakistani/Indian style cooking, rich with spices but tempered to ensure that it is not too hot for most. The meat dishes (chicken/lamb/goat/beef) are cooked to perfection, tender and juicy that melt in one’s mouth. The choices, style and taste are heavily representative of Pakistani cuisine for example the ‘Charsi Karahi Goat’. What stands out is the flavour and the intensity of each dish, which Pakistani cuisine is known for. It leaves the impression that Village View takes its role seriously as an ambassador of Pakistani culture and cuisine, does it big, does it well and takes no short-cuts to ensure quality.

Catering: We recently also had food catered by Village View for about 30 persons. We had discussed the menu with Village View who made very helpful suggestions, which worked out well. The food arrived on time, was piping hot and hand delivered to our serving area. The trays were filled to the brim with actual substance, not just gravy. The cooking and taste were of ‘restaurant quality’ and exactly the same as what is served in the restaurant. Our guests loved the food and could not stop talking about it.

It should be of no surprise that we feel that Village View deserves 5 stars. We hope that as Welland grows, Village View grows as well and remains in the community for a long...

First and foremost, the taste was absolutely divine. The dishes truly captured the essence of Pakistani flavors, with rich spices and perfectly balanced aromas that transported me straight to the streets of Lahore and Karachi. The menu was incredibly diverse, offering a wide range of dishes from savory biryanis to delectable curries, catering to every palate.

What truly sets this place apart is the ambiance. The romantic, cozy atmosphere made for a perfect evening, whether you're on a date or just enjoying a meal with loved ones. The soft lighting and elegant decor created a warm and inviting environment that enhanced the overall dining experience.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cost as well. With such high-quality food and a luxurious setting, I expected to pay much more, but the prices were incredibly reasonable, ranging between $25 to $30 CAD per person. It's rare to find such a great value for such an exceptional experience.

Finally, the staff at Village View Restaurant deserve special mention. They were not only friendly and attentive but went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Their genuine hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel truly valued as guests.

Writing a review for VILLAGE VIEW BUFFET RESTAURANT in Welland is a pleasure & a privilege. I have been in Canada for the last 55 years & have always craved the great food of Pakistan where I remember in my teenage years I always enjoyed. I am so happy to recommend the extremely tasty food of VILLAGE VIEW that took me back to my childhood days. Not only is their food outstanding and the taste is very authentic. The ambiance is just as wonderful as the people who serve you. Even the main Chef & the host never fail to greet you and ask for your opinion of how they can better serve you. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would have to give them a 10 PLUS. My friends & I have eaten there about 5 times since they opened about 3 months ago & have even celebrated birthdays & anniversary parties there & we have had nothing but high praises for their awesome food from our guests. I suggest you try them just once & yes you will come back, because you won't forget your first experience.
