Vincent's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Welland

In the past this would be 5 star across the board. It was our favourite place to eat. The food, the staff...it was all awesome. The owner was our favourite delivery driver. Really, we loved the staff. I'd make cheeky requests on my order form and they'd respond with equally cheeky messages on the boxes. Not sure what's happening recently but website never works. We have to call in our orders (which isn't a HUGE deal, but I do prefer the online method which is why I use it). But when calling in my order its nothing but issues. The past few times, they dont hear me right, they repeat the wrong order and then give me the wrong price. And when I tell them what the website charged me they say they didn't give me the deal and still charge more. THEN blame it on extra toppings, which are on my order. They finally did give me the same price, reluctantly. But my anxiety is through the roof now.

I dont know if it's a new owner or what's going on. But if online ordering doesnt work next time, I'll probably go somewhere else. It shouldn't cause me so much anxiety to order dinner.

Edit: ordered again tonight. Online issue fixed. Pizza quality though....it was undercooked. The olives were still crunchy as if tossed on after. And I swear the party tray is smaller. Wings haven't...

I eat at Vincent's Pizzeria a good amount, since I used to eat there a lot in high school, so I was worried when I heard that the shop changed hands somewhat recently. Of course, a lot of the time new ownership means they change things that work and it takes some adjusting, but I'm happy to say that even with new ownership, it seems the quality has stayed at the same high standard they've kept it at since 2014. The new owner and employee both seem very friendly and welcoming, and when I asked whether or not it had changed owners, the employee seemed concerned. He asked if there was an issue, or if I'd noticed a negative change in quality, and I assured him that wasn't the case - Just that going there for so long I got to know the previous owner a bit and hadn't seen him around in a while. Pizza is still fantastic, service is good, and they seem to be keeping busy which is a testament to how loyal the community here is to them and their product. We ordered a new york style pizza, thinking we would get a new york style pizza. We are travellers so we know what to expect when it comes to a new york style and this was NOT new york style. I’m American and I’ve tried different new york style pizzas from pizza places that offered it, never had a problem. It’s not authentic but close enough, so that’s what I was expecting from this place, something close enough to a new york style. I’m so thoroughly disappointed. I read reviews, everyone was raving about this place and the pizza, looked at pictures, watched some local foodie’s video, felt confident to order from a new place. Lol never again. The cheese tasted old/stale. No parm cheese even though it’s supposedly “new york style”. The sauce? Nonexistent. Just a little spread. However, the sauce did taste really good and we liked how big and floppy the pizza was. The creamy garlic dip is amazing. Overall, not a great “new york style” pizza.
