Hey everyone! I'm posting a review here because I'm so frustrated with McDonald's these days (or the owners), due to what they're doing with their coffee. Most coffee drinkers will remember when McCafe started how awesome this product was and it quickly gained popularity. I live in St Albert and I remember when my closest location began "watering down" their coffee, meaning they used less to brew a pot and it tasted more like coloured water than coffee. I slowly began to switch stores as others began to do the same thing, but now I cannot buy a coffee anywhere in St Albert that's made properly (perhaps they're owned by the same person?). I can only assume this action is profit based in the hopes that the consumer wouldn't realize this. I had a few stores in Edmonton I was aware of that still made it the way it was originally designed, namely this one on 118 Ave. I ordered a coffee at the drive through three days ago since I was in the area and drove off. Well it was nice and hot and by the time I took my first sip I was too far away and too busy to deal with it. This was absolutely the worst cup of coffee I've ever had and it was so weak it tasted like hot cream and sugar. I am so incredibly disappointed that McDonald's Corporation has no influence on this action these stores are taking as I had complained to them in the past. Sure they listened, but nothing changes. Maybe as they begin to close stores nationally customer satisfaction is no longer a priority, I don't know. McDonald's took a lot of customers with their new coffee from Tim's a few years ago as most of them were frustrated with the change they made to their coffee all in the name of profit and thousands vowed never to return. How can you have forgotten this lesson so quickly and create your own demise from a great business move less that 5 years ago? Shame on you for not treating your customers with respect and trying to pull the wool over their eyes... I know I'm not alone and will share this...
Read moreTypical automaton servers. Dumb manager took my order and I asked for 2 hash browns. He ordered me 2 meals, but I didn't care and just paid it. But he had acknowledged that I didn't want a bun on the sandwich, that it would be served on a (plastic) plate. There isn't a screen which was can read and confirm my order, just a digital price.
When I received the order the sandwiches were in buns within wrappers and I sent them back. He was standing within earshot and I heard him say "Oh yeah!", and then followed the worker around a corner explaining the rest of the instructions.
When I received the second pair of sandwiches they were on a plate but still in buns so, I returned them again. The worker brought them back asking what the matter was and when I explained very simply "no bun" she didn't acknowledge, so I repeated it and she still looked dumb, so I yelled it.
I am really glad that there is an app where I can select these modifications (no bun) myself so I don't have to be stared at in disbelief. I hereby make a proclamation that I will deal with the app instead of these automatons.
I wonder what the person making the sandwich does when he gets the order? He surely doesn't stand in disbelief but seems to take the instructions without questions. I don't understand what the problem is with communications of the people...
Read moreI was at the 12350 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 5G8 McDonald's around 12:10pm today. April 28, 2025. I parked in a curbside pickup spot and started to order using the app. It kept coming up with some nonsensical useless error message. So I thought, well, I will have to go through the drive-thru then. Just as I was about to pull up to one of the ordering stands, a McDonald's employee blocked the lanes with pylons. Then some manager came out, but I couldn't really make out what she was saying. All I caught was something like: "we can't do anything" or "there's nothing we can do". Ya, great. McDonald's should just shut this location down during the awful construction that's going on. If you cannot serve customers, why bother?! Last time I was there, I was at least still able to walk in and place an order. I had to drive to the Kingsway location, which was another nightmare in itself. Coming from the west, it is nearly impossible to get to. Because you are not allowed to make a left turn from Kingsway to 111 Avenue. I had to make a huge detour just to get to it. What a frustrating day! Just because my father requested some McDonald's food. 😆 I forgot that there was a closer location in Westmount. Do...
