Boston Pizza — Restaurant in Wetaskiwin

If I could share less than one star I would. The calamari was swimming in a pool of oil. See attached photos. The first one shows the oil slick on the right with the second with all the food pushed to one side to capture the 2 tablespoons of oil left on the plate. The Shrimp tacos looked appetizing except for the fact that they were so cold it was as though they had been served directly out of a fridge. They ironically were also served with a napkin underneath which would have been more beneficial to the calamari appetizer. There is also a photo showing that the cheese hadn't even melted although there were apparent grill marks on the tortilla shells. A normal favorite of mine at any other location is the cactus cut potatoes. They too were cold, and undercooked. Limp raw slices of potato and not at all appealing to the pallate. My wife's french fries also contained mixed pieces of calamari and deep fried onions, so allergies beware... The only positive I can truthfully give is that the beer was cold and poured correctly, and the service was averagely attentive. However the fact that the food was to the point of inedible I cannot recommend ever eating at this location. I swore 5 years ago I'd never come back to this Boston Pizza (for similar reasons but more so to the staff being unnatentive) and figured I'd give it another chance since so much time had passed. I can not recommend eating here as you will be disappointed unless your only coming for a cold drink and average service. Negative stars. Exceptionally disappointing. Really an embarrassment for what is normally associated with a quality product. I did pay my bill as tallied as the waitress was only doing her job. Went here this evening for my step brother's birthday, they arrived at 5:45pm. We didn't get there until 6pm, first waitress refused to serve us so we got a second server who came. Didn't get our drink order taken until 6:20 - 6:25pm waited another 20 mins before we got our drinks and took our food orders. Waited another hour before we got our food. We also didn't recieve utensils until AFTER the food came. They messed up an order and forgot an order as well. Food was good but the service sucked. They had given the staff an ice cream birthday cake to hold on too until we were done eating. They didn't even put it in the freezer or refrigerate it, it was almost completely melted by the time it reached our table at 8:20pm. They rushed through the song. Brought us plates but they didn't bring us utensils... again. So all throughout the night we were constantly having to bug other workers who was not our waitress. Some even completely ignoring us as we were trying to get utensils. They recieved 50$ off of the bill and a poor apology from the manager who also seemed to have an attitude. Never had this experience at this location before but will not ever return. Good way to ruin someone's birthday! Why hire miserable/untrained people for customer service?...

We had our staff Christmas party last night. There was another party in the lounge. We were the only 2 tables. There was 10 of us. After placing our orders, the food came out staggered, really staggered. Some were done eating pasta, steak etc, I ordered a starter Caesar salad no croutons and wings. I was the last to get my food, an hour and a half I waited. My salad came with croutons, barely any dressing. I informed the waiter, he offered another salad but I didn't want to wait another half hour so I said I would pick them out but please bring me some dressing, but he forgot so I just ate my wings and told him to take the inedible salad off the bill. Another girl found hair in her pasta. Both came off the bill but it was so disappointing. Another thing that struck me was how dirty the floor was. I know it's the end of the day but a simple carpet sweeper would have cleaned it up quite a bit. I worked in food service 45 years so I now how it goes and how you have clean throughout the day.First impressions go a long way when you walk in, and the first thing I saw was messines, I will never go back for any reason.
