Throughly enjoyed my experience at Bangrak. Our server Porruthai was so friendly, so helpful and so personable. She helped me and a group of friends order based on what we liked and in terms of allergies and stuff.
This place is great for casual dates, family gatherings or any type of social gatherings.
What we ordered Apps Thai iced tea - perfect level of sweetness for me, some places usually make it too sweet. 2 types of chicken wings original and spicy larb (think spicy and tangy) chicken satay (4 skewers) delicious with the peanut sauce lunch special
Mains crispy pad thai shrimp and veggies made using deep fried egg noodles and a homemade sauce of tamarind, palm sugar and fish sauce. Its one of their top sellers and I can see why! Love the texture of this dish, its so unique! I have never tried a crispy version of pad thai before. street fried rice or Khao pad tammada. Love the veggies in this fried rice as I love Chinese broccoli pad kee maw or also called drunken noodles is one of my all time favourites to order! With fresh rice noodles, basil, chillies and finger root Pad Kra Tiam with chicken which is garlic chicken rice Khao soi beef, the beautiful curry dish with crispy egg noodles on the side, its delicious! tumtard, its a platter of papaya salad, bangrak grilled chicken, sticky rice, boiled egg, and Vietnamese pork sausage. The chicken is amazing and tasty
I was blown away with the dessert! I love mango sticky rice and they do it the best in my opinion! Firstly the sticky rice is infused with butterfly pea flower to make it a beautiful blue hue and the ample amount of sweet and salty coconut sauce topped over this with crunchy pieces of deep fried mung beans i believe with a side of perfectly ripe mangoes. Get this dish to end your meal, you won't regret it!
Overall loved my experience here, would love to come back if I'm in the area. Please support small businesses in light of this crisis, they...
Read moreNever returning. It is common for restaurants to get busy as this line of business can be very stressful, however, it is important to communicate with your customers. Firstly, our order took almost an hour to be completed. If the employees communicated that the wait time will be long at least we would be able to decide for ourselves if we could wait that long. We aren't from the area so it's not like we can head home and come back. Secondly, we were told that we would be called when our order was ready. There was no phone call and we had to call the restaurant ourselves to find out our order was ready for pick up after waiting outside for an hour. Despite the lack of communication and the long wait time we were still willing to give the restaurant a chance because no day at a restaurant is perfect. The restaurant tried to fix the issue by giving us a bag of shrimp chips on the house, which was a nice gesture, however due to an allergy we were unable to eat them. The Pad Kee Mao looked great when we opened it up it looked flavourful and it smelled good. The Khao Pad Ka Prao on the other hand looked bland and unappetizing; after giving it a try it proved to be as it looked. To top off the evening, we had to fix the Khoa Pad Ka Prao ourselves by concocting our own flavours which defiets the purpose of ordering take out. After we fixed the dish it tasted decent. This is unfortunate because we were excited to find another favorite...
Read moreGreat tasting authentic Thai food in Brooklin? Heck, yesss!!! Bangrak Thai Street Food offers the flavours of Thailand in a small but cozy setting with excellent service.
I've been looking forward to this visit ever since I heard about this relatively new restaurant. I came here with a couple of friends who love Thai food as much as I do. We ordered several dishes to try and even some to take home.
We started with Chicken Wings, nice and crispy, and then moved on to a Papaya Salad, dressed with a flavourful fish sauce. The Khao Pad Ka Prao (Holy basil fried rice) with Beef was delicious, as was the Kai Yang, a grilled boneless chicken with sticky rice and tamarind sauce.
Our next dish, Crispy Pad Thai with Shrimps, was outstanding! Even though I'm (mildly) allergic to shrimps, I just pushed them aside and dug into the crispy noodles. This might have been my favourite dish of the evening, with great flavour and a nice crispy texture from the noodles. Yummm!
Our next dish, Green Curry with Chicken, was delicious, even with the Thai eggplant. I don't usually eat eggplant but I tried it and it wasn't bad.
Even though we were stuffed, we had to try the dessert, Sticky Rice with Mango. Deeelicious!
Everything we ate was so good. I even ended up ordering a couple of dishes to take home. I love Thai food! I would definitely...
