A brunch spot that definitely has that trendy insta influencer look and feel but unfortunately falls short when it comes to food and guest service.
We were seated quickly when we arrived at the restaurant and expect there will be a wait at peak times given the limited size of the seating area. We liked the simplicity of the menu and all of the varied brunch food options.
The food was served hot and did have it's positive features but things that threw us off were - the mountain of canned blueberries on the Purple Hills pancakes which did very little to enhance or complement the dish. The bacon pieces were so overdone they were difficult to bite. The entire dish disintegrated into what I can only described as a soup as it was eaten. The B&Co. Toast lacked in portion size and the bread was so thinly sliced that I feel you could buy the same from any of your local grocery stores. For the price being paid for the dish one would think it would be loaf cut slices. Overall the food disappointed and did not hit the mark for us. There are glimmers of hope here but more effort has to be put into portion sizing, presentation and taste.
Worth noting we asked for a well done egg on the B&Co. and were told that the request would be put in but the kitchen would not be too pleased with the ask! We have eaten at our fair share of brunch and breakfast restaurants and have never been told that before. It felt more of a threat than an accommodation. This interaction makes me question the approach of the restaurant and their service training/etiquette.
We would give the atmosphere an overall high mark. The tables to the entire dining area were well kept and looked very inviting.
In the end a fancy restaurant layout, cool menu dish names and hefty menu prices left us wanting more. Would we visit the location again? maybe sometime in the future (as we love to support our local restaurants) but for now Brunch & Co is a...
Read moreVery nice looking restaurant and very clean. The food, for the price, was extremely bad. Ordered two chocolate milks and one was sour. The food came in a good time but one of the orders was pancakes with bacon on the side. It came in the pancakes. The French toast was cold upon arrival and again, asked for cinnamon to come with the French toast and nothing came.
I understand it was busy and I am not one to complain about small stuff so I let the bacon in the pancakes and the cinnamon not coming go but the milk being sour was not ok. Not to mention there was no apology, no checking in afterwards etc.
Our server didn’t even initially take the the milk off the bill…
-If you have a child, I would avoid the establishment. -If you have requests specific to your likes or wants, I would avoid the establishment. -If you go online and look at the meals offered and would like anything not deemed “popular”, you should avoid the establishment.
Like I said, it’s “artsy” and the restaurant itself appears to be well taken care of. Maybe we just got unlucky on our visit but for the $95.00 it cost for 3 brunch meals, I would certainly hope for an A+++ all around experience. This was definitely NOT that.
We won’t be going again and if you are looking for an affordable, tasty, welcoming and tasteful experience, you probably shouldn’t go either.
But if you’re going to munch and sit with the ladies over a mimosa, then maybe...
Read moreI’ll start off by saying the food and atmosphere were amazing. However I did have a poor experience with the service that was provided. My friend and I arrived around 1230pm today (Sunday) and was seated right away which was great. We were able to place our order by 1250pm, however didn’t get our food until 140pm. I witnessed customers come and go within the time I waited for my meal. The restaurant wasn’t too busy as well, considering they close at 2pm, the crowd definitely died down by the time we had ordered. Not only did the food take a while to come, I ordered the egg sandwich on a bagel that comes with bacon. Being Muslim, I asked if they had they offer another alternative for the bacon, they said no. So I asked for there to be no bacon on the sandwich, which the server(whom I think is the owner), agreed it was no problem. After waiting an hour for my food, it came with bacon on it. I told the waitress I am Muslim I do not eat pork & had asked for the sandwich without pork. The waitress proceeded to roll her eyes, take the plate back to the kitchen (which is right in front of where I’m sitting), whisper to the chef, and then turned around and asked if she can take it off or does she need to make me “a whole new one”… as if I was the problem. I just found the interaction to be very insensitive. Again the food was great but the customer service was lacking. Super...
