Such an amazing bakery. This is my first time trying COBS bakery and the experience was amazing. Surprisingly it was not a long wait to get our stuff. The workers over there were so nice and accommodating. They offered us a free sample of the pumpkin scone with the icing and it was delicious. It just melted in the mouth. We ordered 2 chocolate croissants, a pumpkin scone and a ham and cheese croissant. The chocolate croissant is sooo good and one of the best that I have tried. The ham and cheese croissant is to die for and is a must try for everyone visiting COBS. Lastly, the pumpkin scone sample was really good that I had to get the full one. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to everyone. They make fresh bread too which I hear is amazing. The cost is so worth the price because it is quality products. I will definitely be coming back again.

Good for takeout items. They can't warm up anything and generally croissants colder than room temperature for sure. Unless you like cold croissants, you can't eat right away. Even with that said, I would still give this place a 5 star rating. Their ham and cheese croissants and cinnamon buns are perfect if you warm them up slightly at home. Drop by and grab a few items for the week to have in the morning daily.

So glad to see a COBS bakery in Durham region. Disappointed in the fact it is a very small store. But the bread and pastries are well worth it. The blueberry custard danish was out of this world.I was going to take a picture of it but I devoured it so quickly. I should of brought more.

The store is pretty clean and the scones are great, however my experience at the store itself was salty. I appreciate the measures taken during covid, signs should be more clear, instead I was rudely yelled at by the staff.. and then later the same staff and a customer were sharing giggles about the situation after I had apologized. Felt discriminated. I have read the responses from management on previous reviews and I can understand it is probably an attitude that is encouraged.

  • update It was my wife and her 2 sisters who visited the store. They were ALL WEARING MASKS. My wife and one of her sisters entered in the store there was one customer in the store already and there were no others waiting in the line behind them. When they entered the staff didn't say anything, 3 in total in store. When her sister wanted to switch her spot with the other sister (waiting outside). The staff yelled and said 2 at a time and then called a 28year old woman that she mistook her for a minor and that she wasnt allowed in. The staff then apologized for yelling because she had a long day and got picked on. When my wife empathized and said "I'm so sorry you hard a rough day" the staff then shared laughs with the woman who was cashing out. Shame on you for assuming they were just unhappy customers. Please talk to your staff, educate and train them on how to...

Where to start.....was definitely not impressed with the service at the location as the young man looking after my orders did not seem to be trained sufficiently to be serving customers. The product is half decent to good but not really worth the money charged. The danishes ( hardly any filling) are below avarage at best, the chocolate used on them and the croissants (did not try the chocolate covered scones but fear the same low quality product is used) is of rather very mediocre quality. The olive bread was good. A sufficient amount of olives but from the smell of the bread you can tell that the sour dough used is factory made: it has that unpleasant pre-fabricated smell. The cinnamon rolls are not better than what l can produce at home. So the $ 4 you have to pay per each are not warranted.

All in all a bakery slightly above the box-store bakeries but not worth the extra big bucks one has to spend for similar products. I doubt that the doughs used are made from scratch on the premises. There are less expensive options - even in Whitby - selling equally mediocre...

Service has dropped dramatically over the years. Been a customer of Cobs for quite some time, this location I have supported since it opened as well as through the pandemic years.

Lower quality, smaller sizes, smaller selection, technology shift from paper loyalty always a headache. A few times when earned a loyalty/birthday reward was refused to honour (once because of switch from paper to electronic and once because the app wasn’t working).

Missed orders or incorrect quantity had occurred as well.

I’ve let these instances go over the years, and I don’t make it a habit of bashing businesses, especially ones that probably have a franchise owner.

Lastly when reaching out to head office zero acknowledgment. At this point I’d say it’s probably systemic.

Based on service I would have given a 5 a few years back, and a zero if I could today.

There’s another cobs up the street on Baldwin hopefully they’re better run if not the Longos in that same plaza is...
