Read moreWe went there on Saturday night. I’ve ordered their food through Uber Eat before, and I liked it although the quantity was not big.
Initially, we were very excited and loved the atmosphere in the restaurant then the service ruined everything. I don’t remember her name, and I guess she is newly hired because she was not sure about the kid’s menu. (We were asking what’s the 2 options we can choose. She said it’s 1 topping until she read the menus again)
When we tried to order one garden salad and one Caesar salad from our AYCT sides, she told me she could only serve one salad at a time. Then we go with the garden salad. It is ok to prevent guests wasted food. BUT, we didn't get our salad un till I finished my pasta and asked her for that. At the same time, I saw many tables were having one salad per guest.
The small plate full of tissues that we used to clean the table (the table was sticky and we wiped the bread crumbs), we left it at the corner, and she took the big plate and neglected the small one. I understand that small ones might be advised to leave for guests, but when it is full of garbage and it’s dirty. It shouldn't be left on the table. Not to mention my soup and salad were not finished and were taken away while I went to the washroom with my son.
When I asked excuse me, where is the washroom. Her answer was “It is JUST right there.” (not far from us) but her response made me feel like I asked a dump question since I'm not blind.
Other than that, the washroom is very dirty and the floor right next to our table is also full of garbage. Used napkin and straw packages…
I eventually still clicked 15% tips (although that's the lowest one), then had some issues with my Apple pay. I could feel she was impatient.
I really like the food tho. And the kids menu is well designed, my kid loves...
Read moreEDIT: I came here today after reviewing them before and was a bit disappointed. It took 10 minutes for our server to come over to take our drink order. My Pina Colada was served in a wine glass. I said nothing about that. The "Jumbo Shrimp" pasta had no jumbo shrimp so false advertising, I said nothing to the server about that. Brown lettuce tossed into my salad, I sad nothing about that. They've gone back to using cheap margarine for the bread instead of real butter, I said nothing about that. The server started off nice but seemed to change her tune when I asked why my daughter didn't receive her salad that comes with her meal, yet my husband and I received ours. She gave me some snooty response about it being a family size salad and that we can share, yet my husbands salad came in the same size bowl for him only. She seemed really defensive and offended that I would even ask. She should be able to answer a simple question without the snotty response. I could have complained about a lot more but chose not too. I see another restaurant that is slowly losing it appeal and quality control. Disappointing experience today.
(OLD REVIEW, SEE ABOVE FOR MOST RECENT) My family and I just went back to this East Side Mario’s for the first time yesterday since they reopened last week after months of being closed down. New owners. Excellent service, fresh delicious food. Just goes to show how sometimes a new owner who takes pride in their restaurant makes a world of difference. Our meals were hot and fresh and tasted amazing. They also now offer real butter for the delicious bread they serve, got rid of the nasty cheap margarine that used to be served here before new ownership. Quality control for sure and the place is spotless, so bright and clean. Will be back with my...
