A few weeks ago I hosted a private family function of 35 people at Greek Tycoon. I don’t where to start or what to rave about first, but I first discovered this gem during COVID and I was instantly hooked!
The tables, linen, table top wear etc were all perfectly arranged.
The appetizers where spectacular! Calamari was the best I’ve had, spanakopita (spinach pie) was amazing, saganaki was on fire!!!!…and the dips where also the best I’ve had. And I would echo my satisfaction and comments for the main course as well
My HUGE thank you goes out toTommy and the server (forgive me but her name has slipped my mind), as they were both absolutely incredible….even though I messed up the number of guests I was expecting…..Tommy made it happen and made it look so easy! They made my guests and I feel right at home from the minute we arrived. Their attention to detail, professionalism, quality of the food, cleanliness of the restaurant itself, and hospitality is something that didn’t go unnoticed. Even the pickiest of eaters were satisfied and had absolutely nothing but positive things to say.
If I was to recommend a dish….that wouldn’t be fair because everything on the menu is served fresh, and seasoned to perfection. I’ve pretty much had everything on the menu over the past two years.
And last but not least….thank you to the kitchen staff who prepared our food to perfection and managed to have everyone served their meal within minutes of one another.
It’s clear to me why they’ve been around for all these years.
I’ll see you soon...
Read moreUpdated review March 14, 2022 — I chose to change my review of 5 stars to just 1, due to this restaurants lack of care and professionalism. I had called probably 1.5 - 2 weeks ago but wasn't able to reach anyone as they were closed; I chose to use their contact form on the website instead.
I let them know that I had previously ordered their food quite a while back and am currently away in the US from January 26th to early April, but I had noticed a charge of almost $100 to my credit card on February 25th at their restaurant. I simply stated it wasn't me as I wasn't even in the country. All I asked for was if they could get back to me with how that order was paid for - in person? Over the phone? Skip, doordash etc.. and I received NO reply.
I won't ever be ordering from this restaurant again. I don't understand how a charge to this restaurant was the only strange charge to my card, not a single other charge was done by someone other than me, just 100$ almost in their food. I'm even more weird-ed out that they didn't or couldn't be bothered to reply.
Food is still superb 👌🏼 Professionalism and customer care is trash. Avoid, avoid, AVOID.
August 2021 — I ordered ahead for pick up for my mom's birthday this month and we were blown away by the portion size!
The food was so tasty and fresh. I loved the tzatziki. The rice could have used a bit more flavor to it, but was still well enjoyed by everyone. Absolutely recommend this place if you want to leave feeling stuffed...

I’m celiac , and there aren’t many “safe” options in Durham region, however this restaurant was recommended in one of our celiac groups as the owner Tommy is apparently quite knowledgeable.
For the past I would say 4 times I have ordered , I always specify no bread , it needs to be gluten free as I am celiac and they always say no problem. I arrive to pick up my order and each time there is a bag of bread in my bag ontop of my food. This might not seem like a big deal to those who don’t have celiac , but for someone who does , this is not good. If you can’t guarantee it, no problem, but then tell me and I won’t order and I will make sure that all other Celiacs steer clear as well.
Last week I ordered a large greek salad and when I got home I was surprised to see a large box of lettuce with a few tomatoes, cucumber, olives and a sprinkle of feta (for $15!!) I couldn’t believe it. In the past I’ve always received salads full of peppers, onions and generous feta.
I’m not sure what’s happening but I find the quality has...
