First I want to start by saying I love Sunset Grill. This review is based on being to various locations. This one just happens to be the worse.
On a Saturday morning my daughter and stopped off that this location to have breakfast. First, we were not treated, rather approached with silence by someone who had a look on her face like why are we there. I asked for a table for 3 (hubby joined after). She grabbed 3 adult menu even though it was me and my daughter at the time. She then started walking without saying anything, so we just followed. Then she put the menus down on a table and walked away. No words!!! Then another lady came and introduced herself. She was nice but very distracted watching everyone else.
After ordering and getting my food. I was very disappointed. The quality was lacking and the service was disappointing. Needless to say I will never visit that location again.
The cheese on my husband omelet did not even melt. I don't know what kind of cheese was that but it was gross. My potatoes were orange, I kept asking if these was on it (lactose intolerant). I've never gotten potatoes before with an orange tint. The cup the crayons came in had all sorts of writing from other kids, I was scared for her to touch it. The toast was burnt! The syrup bottle was super sticky and had paper towels stuck to it The coffee cup was so small, my hubby just said we will buy coffee after leaving there instead of him having to keep asking for coffee. I am used to getting nice fluffy toast for my French toast and it was the think bread that was used to make the French toast.

Read moreIf zero stars was an option. It was earned. We where not even seated let alone able to eat. Although we waited a good 20 minutes just to be sat down. Decided to leave once a man, woman and child came in. Walked past the line of people waiting. Went directly to a man wearing a black polo. Proceeded to talk to him like they where friends- family. Very closely over other people’s fresh food awaiting a delivery to there table. Honestly far closer than she should have been with the cold and flu season relevant (also the lingering possibility of spreading covid.) She also almost touched the plates- food of others while she talk to black polo. Pointing down at the fried potatoes. Then immediately proceeded to go to a waitress to be seated. The waitress made eye contact with us for no other reason than you could see she knew seating them was wrong. But required. Then took her across the restaurant and sat them at a dirty table away from us. “Out of site”. We then again proceeded to wait. Another waitress cleans the table for the either family or friends of black polo. We where only addressed as we physically went up to the waitress who sat her. Who told us she had waited a long time and was there before us. Which was a blatant fib. In fact there was one couple before us and who was seat before her and about 3-4 other tables to be seated before she should have been sat. This in my mind was a classic case of nepotism. Which caused us to leave and we will not be going to this restaurant again. Thanks for treating us like second class citizens. We will be taking our business going...
Read moreWe went for breakfast today the food wasn't cooked to the quality it has been in the past. (At the north Oshawa location they asked if we wanted poached egg or fried eggs on the eggs Benedict but this one just came woth fried egg which is not how eggs Benedict is supposed to be cooked.) Being a weekend you would think they would be on their A-game there was more than enough staff so this wasn't a staff shortage issue. Took a little long to get our drinks but we didn't think anything of it. As soon as we got our food the server out down our bill without asking if we wanted anything else. She never came to refill our coffees she was around us sweeping bit nit doing her job as a sever. Never asked if everything was OK and with her right beside us sweeping we waited for her to ask if we needed a box but she didn't so we just left our leftovers there, we would've taken them home. We shouldn't have to flag her down for refills or a box or to tell her if we needed anything extra. It was clear as soon as we got our food she considered her job done. The coffee is $2.50-$3 and you get one small cup no refills. We spent over $60 for 2 people and didn't even get the option to take our leftovers home. Absolutely terrible service. If you call it that. Mcdonalds serves better than this location. Also, our server wasn't even the one who brought our food another server did and our brought our toast...
