Manchu Kitchen — Restaurant in Whitby

We have been enjoying delicious Chinese food from Manchu Kitchen for approximately 20 years. Cecil has always been great, going above and beyond…..until tonight, New Year’s Eve 2024. As usual on New Years Eve Cecil was very, very busy to say the least, we ordered 2 combination plates, #4 extra spicy and #6 (regular), when we got home and opened up our order, my wife commented that she could smell our sons extra spicy dish, it turns out she was smelling her dish which for the first time ever was extra spicy, I phoned the restaurant and explained the situation to the person on the phone and asked to speak to Cecil directly, instead he relayed the message that I just wanted some regular non spicy Lo mein like I ordered and told him that it was me on the phone and I wanted to talk to him, Cecil said he couldn’t help me today but would take care of me the next time, normally that would be ok but this left my wife only eating a couple of chicken balls and nothing else We are so upset and disappointed, we have been customers for 20 years but I’m sorry to say Manchu Kitchen has regrettably lost our business, sorry Cecil but this was not a good example of...

I hate to leave this review because based on the others I had higher expectations. I normally order from the place on Baldwin but they were closed and I tried this out with my family. The owner was super nice, but the food was not. Firstly the tofu was sour, meaning old. As a vegan who eats tofu daily in my home, my family member tried it because I thought it was just my taste buds but we had to toss it and so that was a waste of $$$. It really shouldn't have been served and that makes me uncomfortable to have family meals here again. The noodles are overly greasy way to much oil, so we had to order a pizza and leave it at that. Food was good. Service and hospitality are horrible. Ordered from them yesterday for delivery, they forgot part of our order so instead of communicating that, leaving it and then going back for the rest, they went back picked up missing item and then delivered food. Food now was very cold. Also called them back regarding an error in the order (which they confirmed and repeated back to me when I placed the order) I was told not their problem, the man argued with me and told me not to ever order from here again.
