T Santa Maria Ristorante And Pizzeria — Restaurant in Whitby

Santa Maria is the restaurant you go to when Pizza Nova isn't good enough and you want a home made quality taste with quality ingredients at a good price. In fact, the food was so good and the owner such a cheerful and communicative person who was adding to the community, I volunteered to do their website - thats how much I believe in this place.

The menu is good and diverse enough to provide a good selection when pizza isn't enough. But still, pizza isn't even the focus, the pasta and panini are also good all around. The reason for this is because J and T (the owners) really took the time to design the flavour and image of the food they serve - every item on the menu.

I visit about once a week. Currently, it is the only pizza my son actually likes - and he is a very picky eater. I would highly recommend santa maria to anyone in Whitby or even Durham Region who wants either something quick to eat alone, wants to order a pizza for delivery, or wants an intimate family...

I really wanted to like trying out a new and locally owned pizza joint for that matter but unfortunately it wasn’t the case :( overall the place had great reviews so I had been craving a new pizza place to try out, perhaps I would give their wings a go because they have been well highlighted but I would have to agree with a fellow reviewer in that my biggest let down (I did decide to order thin crust which is naturally a bit more crisp) but nevertheless the pizza was very very dry. The toppings were over shadowed by the crust completely and as a result wasn’t satisfied. I am genuinely disappointed in the quality of the pizza as the revIews were raving about it being the best in town and such. The pizza crust was thicker than I thought it would be and the cheese was not the greatest. It was very dry and just not pleasing. It really reminded me of warmed up frozen pizza. I am surprised because it is an italian restaurant and my expectations were higher.
