One of the worst take out meals I have had, service and atmosphere not applicable since it was a delivery order. Took over 1 hour for the food to get delivered. We ordered the general tao chicken on fried rice, flavour was just OK, nothing special. We understood that the chicken pieces weren't going to crispy due to the take out. Mango salad was a few pieces of julienne mango with some shredded lettuce, there's no dressing at all. The spring roll was luke warm and half soggy. The beef thai poutine was a big clunk of fries and gooey cheese & gravy stuck together, beef was tough.. there were some fried chicken pieces in a separate paper baggie, they resembled popcorn chicken/nuggets, they were so dry with no flavour, there's more batter than chicken meat. We order take out quite often and we absolutely understand that the food quality is expected to be diminished compared to dine in at any restaurant. But this meal is by far the worst anyone can get, we ended up throwing half of it out and my dog ate a few pieces of the dried out chicken nuggets he thought closed enough to his...
Read moreHad the opportunity to visit our newly opened neighborhood Thai Express and got what we expected in the way of service and food quality.
We enjoyed two dishes - basil chicken, medium spice with white rice and chicken pad see ew mild. My daughter loves the food chain as she has multiple GF options to choose from. We enjoyed the freshly prepared food and both dishes were made to our liking. We were even given free peanut packets on the side when we asked for some even though I believe there may be a cost for it.
The restaurant design is stylish with tables and waiting areas kept clean. There is sufficient room to eat at the restaurant if you need to dine-in but can get a bit busy during the afternoon lunch rush.
The two areas that could use some attention 1. Focus on in store customers and turn off that food delivery apps if you do not have the right complement of kitchen staff present and 2. The chicken did feel a bit over cooked and certain pieces a bit bulky.
Overall a good food experience and we plan to visit as soon as we have our next Thai...
Read moreVisited yesterday to place two orders and tried to use two valid coupons (15% and 50% off). Other Thai Express locations have allowed this without issue, but here, the store clerk had to call the manager for approval. I was told only one coupon could be used, which felt unfair and inconsistent with other branches.
I also asked for extra plates and was told “no, we don’t give out plates”—again, unlike other locations where paper plates have been provided without any hesitation.
To top it off, I went to use the washroom and saw a handwashing sign featuring a cartoon of Justin Trudeau with the caption “don’t be this guy.” Completely inappropriate and unprofessional for a food establishment.
Overall, the experience was disappointing. Inconsistent policies, poor customer service, and questionable signage. Definitely reconsidering returning to this location.
I guess owner not fan of...
