Captain Hooks Bar & Grill - Stouffville — Restaurant in Whitchurch-Stouffville

We went to Captain Hooks yesterday to try it out after Oakside closed. It was our FIRST time there and first off I want to say the place look GREAT inside and service was GREAT and the food was GREAT, definitely no complaints at all, BUT...just after we ordered they had a couple of guys bring in a 65Inch TV (which the first one they broke and had to go grab a second) to replace one that wasn't working above a booth. First off, there are plenty of TV's everywhere and it wasn't an issue BUT they decide to change the TV while the restaurant was open and people were SITTING DOWN in the booths right beside it. The TV actually over hanged the one booth the the party of 4 that was seated there was worried that the TV would fall on them. SERIOUSLY, who the hell does this while the place is open. it couldn't wait? When the guys opened the box they left the straps and stuff all over the floor and the one customer had to walk over it, not to mention the one worker changing the TV when he was standing beside the occupied booth had his butt literally 2 ft from were the customer was eating right beside him. This is not something you engage in when the place is open and full of customers. I work construction and certainly didn't think this was appropriate in any way. I erased peoples faces to protect there privacy. I really don't know when we will be going back to Captain Hook.

I didn't write this review to deter anyone from going there as the food and service was GREAT, just wanted to bring this to there attention as something you DO NOT do while customers are there...

We are not sure why we waited so long to come here! The wings were great, even better when they are half price on certain days. The mussels were FANTASTIC with the coconut curry sauce they were served in. The deep fried perogies were very good. The sticky toffee dessert was soooo good! Our server, Kirsten, was amazing! She was attentive and made sure our drinks were filled. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

UPDATE: Went back again on Sept. 8th 2025 for the wings and mussels. Still can't say enough about the coconut curry mussels! Love these! We tried the sliders from the appetizer menu and they were very good! Great option for someone who isn't looking for a larger meal or for a child that may have a pickier appetite. We had Tianna as our server tonight, and she was pleasant and helped to accommodate slight changes we asked for. Andrew, the manager, came to us to check in on our meal. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stouffville’s newest gem, Captain Hook’s, and I must say, it’s a culinary delight!
