And today I ordered food and mango juices! they poured the juice into my glass so I couldn't see! I paid for a glass bottle of mango and received half the juice in a glass! This is a scam! after drawing attention, the gentleman said - "this glass has the same capacity as the original bottle of mango juice! I ordered juice for myself and my husband! I bought another juice and poured it into a glass to show how they deceived us! The glass had half the capacity of the bottle of mango juice ) !!! where is the rest of my juice that I paid for? at the end they counted 3 bottles and in fact I received a volume equal to 1 juice plus the juice I bought to prove to them that they are lying to us!oh ..we ate at a restaurant.
correctly, the juice should be poured into a glass and the remainder should be placed on my table! so that I can add the remaining juice! the waiter, looking us in the eye, said that he had poured all the juice, that it was the same capacity 😂 ha ha... (good joke) I am a waitress with distinctions (diplomas) and I know the rules of waitressing. So when I buy juice in a bottle to take away, the match costs the same as for a smaller glass in a restaurant? if I tell the waiter I want a bottle to go (don't pour it into a glass, I'll pay the same?) 4.99 for a larger bottle of juice and 4.99 for a small glass of juice??? it is the waiter's duty to ask whether to pour it into a smaller glass, not to run behind the bar and pour the juice and then lie that it is the same capacity! There is no information anywhere that I will pay for a glass. even on the uber app there is a bottle, in other restaurants I order these juices and I get a...
Read moreI don’t like posting less than 5 star reviews but they lost customers today due to lack of follow up when told that there is no taste in food immediately after tasting the dishes.
Rice, noodles and chicken. Dish tasted watered down sauce wise. Server was busy with take out orders after bringing food to table. Went up to take out counter and notified them but front line staff are unable to improve customer service when feedback is given.
Continued to eat the food as no follow up was provided. Would have at least expected them make the dish again as I showed them the plate with plenty of food left but she had no follow up skills.
At the end of the meal I notified another staff member (male staff) of no taste in General Tao chicken and was told the comments would be taken to the chef. No resulting follow up. Big gap between front line staff and management leaves customers unhappy. Buddah smiling the whole time.
Dine in service gets third priority to Uber, phone and take out orders. Thought I lost my sense of taste but other guests voiced the same feedback re: taste. We had lots of food left as we didn’t enjoy it and thought we would take it home to let the flavor set in. when re-heating food at home, all the water evaporated leaving the chicken dry and under sauced. Watered down experience will...
Read moreThis restaurant is authentic in every way (vegetarian-friendly too!). From the owner (Steve) to the cooks to the staff to the flavours, everything brings our family back to Asia. The prices are more than reasonable, as Steve only uses quality ingredients and portions (e.g. their chicken balls are more white meat than breading versus other westernized Asian establishments).
My wife, and her side of the family, is Hakka-Malay; so the bar is set high for authenticity and flavour.
We have repeatedly gone with the Fish Pakora, (dry) Spicy Peper Calamari, (Dry) Bombay, Singapore Fried Rice, Ho Fun, Paneer (Bombay, and Zen's dry special), Mapo Tofu, Pad Thai (real tamarind is used, sans ketchup!) and Basil Tofu.
We have dined inside the restaurant on a couple occasions (we have a newborn and two-year old, so dining out is rare) and done several takeout orders.
Our family highly recommends Zen! We're so happy Steve is finally here in Stouffville (I used to eat at his Whitby location in my old...
