Empty restaurant and they say it takes 25 minutes to make a burger and fries...
Consider this place closed for all intents and purposes...
Noticed the owner likes to chime in to reviews claiming this is t a fast food location... it's fast food quality, at a la carte prices, as slow as it can possibly be made if at all...
Restaurant totally empty.... beware of somewhere that expects a tip before preparing the food...
Burger was OK, lacked seasoning and toppings... wilted red onion and sad lettuce... had the 1/4 lb option...
Fries were OK, but I seem to have gotten the bottom of the basket as a third of then were leftovers from cutting fries - small bits...
Avoid the gravey, it was likely microwaved... it was a little fermented... tasted like Sysco brown sauce...
Price was good for a burger meal without a drink... no drink selection and I'm not paying for someone to get me a bottled coke from a fridge...
Restaurant was filthy - marks on the walls and a bare concrete floor... it's not the 90s anymore, people expect a surface that can be cleaned...
As others have stated, I believe the reviews were purchased... they were all about the 'Z burger'... next time, try sending the bulk review purchasing firm a menu to make it look a bit more plausable...
So, a big 'meh'
Update : It seems the manager has a bad habit of telling customers that, despite their concerns, their experience actually wasn't bad and their food was awesome and the restaurant is clean and that the customer is mistaken... you wanna try that with me? I welcome you to a recorded interview where you can explain yourself and your restaurant... I'm interested to know how you claim that you 'grind AAA steak every day'... and that you're 'not a fast food restaurant'... do you really expect people to believe these things? Do you have any proof of this? All you would need to do is prove any of these claims and follow through them and you'd be popular - instead if having the local reputation of a place that fries up Costco burgers badly... Because it seems most of the negative reviews share the same...
Read moreI had lunch at Zeal Burger on June 11th 25, and unfortunately, I’m leaving the most negative review I’ve ever written because the experience was that disappointing.
To begin with, the burgers were undercooked and nothing like a proper Smash Burger. The patties were paper-thin, lacked any sear or flavor, and the overall size of the burger was shockingly small. It was comparable to a junior burger at McDonald’s or Burger King. I ordered a double cheeseburger, but it looked and tasted like a single junior patty at best.
For a meal consisting of a double cheeseburger, small fries, and a can of pop, I paid somewhere between $25 and $30. That is more than double what you would spend at most fast food chains, with far less value in return. The drink wasn’t even fountain-sized, just a small can. At places like Burger King, you pay less and get a larger drink with unlimited refills.
To make matters worse, the order was completely wrong. I clearly stated my toppings, but the burger arrived without tomatoes, lettuce, or several other requested items. The cashier had serious communication issues. There was a noticeable language barrier, and I had to repeat myself several times, only for my order to still be incorrect. I also said I was dining in, but they packaged everything for takeout, which added to the sense of disorganization and poor communication.
What was most frustrating was that after waiting 15 minutes, I ended up eating a burger I didn’t even order. I didn’t want to wait another 15 minutes to have it remade. At a place charging premium prices, this level of service and food quality is unacceptable.
In short, the food was overpriced, poorly prepared, and the service was chaotic. I left feeling ripped off, disappointed, and angry. I will not be returning to Zeal Burger, and I cannot recommend it to anyone looking for value, good food, or basic...
Read moreWow! The burgers here are excellent. My buddy and I rode our motorcycles from downtown Toronto to this restaurant . The food was worth the 45 minute trip. The restaurant grinds their own high quality beef, roasts and steaks into hamburger. It makes a difference, more delicious than ordinary ground beef. The toppings were perfectly done. Their onion rings and fries are perfectly crispy. Everything was very tasty. My buddy and seriously think these burgers were perhaps the best we've ever had, in our 50 years of eating burgers! No kidding, they're THAT good. There's a variety of burgers on the menu, and the chef can customize a burger any way you please. We both had Royale burgers ( a very Tarantino-esque name, lol), I had the double patty, my buddy had the single. He had fries, and I had "Greek onion rings", with a generous helping of tzatziki and feta cheese. Delicious. I had a strawberry milkshake, which arrived with whipped cream and a cherry. Delicious and perfectly prepared . Note , in the pictures, I've consumed half the milkshake already. It's a bit pricey, we paid $63 for the two meals, ( no dessert). But it's really, really delicious, and worth the cost. We were both stuffed, very filling. The restaurant is mostly take-out, but they have some tables and chairs for eating in. Decor is non-existent, bare walls and concrete floors, with sacks of potatoes as decoration. The location needs some rustic or retro-50s decorative items on the walls. There's lots of parking, but unfortunately the location is not wheelchair accessible. Overall, this is a truly great burger joint. Highly...
