Leela Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in White Rock

Fantastic staff and great flavors but small portions and barely any meat in the meat dishes... I want to give this place 5 stars for the staff alone who were amazing, and the flavours and cook on the food was great... But the truth is if you pay $15 for a plate of say curry chicken, you are going to need to buy a lot of rice to go with it or you're leaving hungry, even if you're a large kid. And you're looking at 5-6 cuts of chicken in it. We ordered 7 dishes and many bowls of rice and I was disappointed in the lack of protein and even volume in all of them. At $14-$18 per dish, I'm expecting more food and to not cheap out on the protein. And that's exactly what it feels like. I think they could do much better if they improved that. Every time I've been here it has been empty other than 1 or 2 other tables. I'd love to see them do better as the flavours are great. Hope they read this and consider it. As I said, the staff is awesome, 5 stars for them (really they were!). Hope this helps! If they fixed small portions especially protein, I'd change my review. Oh and as other people have mentioned, the tables chairs and Decor are very dated... But it kind of works, so I wouldn't hold that...

The Food Was good but I asked for 3 out of 10 for hotness on the padthai as I have a 2 year old. The Padthai was insanely hot - I phoned and told the Manager who could not care less. She blamed me for not understanding her menu. As I ordered over the phone I did not have a menu. I was asking for a credit for next time for some pad thai - thats it. She argued with me for a half hour and said that I should understand her restaurant. Then she insulted me with 1/2 off for next time. Then she told me that she was the one who took the order. Then i asked her why did you repeat the order back to me in English. She said again that I was wrong, wrong wrong. The Padthai was thermo nuclear hot - too bad my 2 year old daughter gets no food tonight :( Thanks Leela Thai - you just lost me forever. The Absolute and Total Arrogance was...

Ordered online on Saturday night for group of 4. Pickup time quoted was 30-40 mins….. ended up getting my food 90 minutes later. Got home with the order and realized I had been shorted an order of Curry….. and even worse, the chicken in the other dishes tasted rancid……. Ended up not being able to eat any of it….. ordered pizza instead. Called and left a message with employee who wasn’t able to deal with it, and said they would have the owner call me…… I called back on Friday night and was told there was no way the chicken was bad, that I was lying. No offer for refund or any customer service. Used to eat here regularly, and first bad experience, but customer service like that will not get my business again.
