I popped in to grab a takeaway burger and dessert and my overall experience was poor. The person at the desk at the entrance didn't greet me, only asked 'For 1?', no smile, 0 enthusiasm, and 0 professionalism. Crumpled shirt, bitten fingernails, lackadaisical attitude. I gave my order. Server/greeter wandered off, I didn't see any sense of urgency.
In total, 5 people had to deal with my order for 2 items, because, it seems, I had asked for my bill to be split. 2 people were friendly, but didn't seem to know what they were doing. 1 person had a drippy nose that they sniffed constantly. Why is a person allowed to work in a restaurant with a probable illness (red, swollen nose too). Very off-putting.
The burger - Bourbon BBQ - drier than a boot left in the Sahara for 6 months, lettuce with brown edges, hardly a whiff of bourbon sauce, 2 manky pieces of tomato thrown in the burger box, and the piece de resistance, a bun that had been toasted, no doubt to disguise it that accompanied that Saharan boot for 6 months. Minus the sand.
Oh, the onion rings...all 10 of them, hardly warranted the additional box they were put in. They were crispy and hot, a minor saving grace, but at $3.29 EXTRA for subbing for fries, a blasphemous price.
I went to Mr Mikes a few times 2 years ago. Has ownership changed? Or only their passion for the biz? That was $23.27 wasted (excl tax and sticky toffee pudding) I coulda put to better use wasting them on cigarettes. Yuk.
Oh, the sticky toffee pudding...brilliant! Great portion size, great pudding...pity about the token, I won't call it a dollop, thimble of cream. In 2 plastic containers, which could have been put in the box as the pudding was not heated.Just wasteful and destructive using that plastic unnecessarily.
C'mon Mr Mikes, get with it that people detest wasting their money. Dining out is an EXPERIENCE...the greeting, the ambience, the service, the food...ALL...

We arrived as a group of four and followed the posted instruction to "please wait to be seated." Despite the restaurant not appearing very busy and several staff members visible, we waited patiently for about 10 minutes without even being acknowledged—not a greeting, not a “we’ll be right with you,” nothing.
It was disappointing to feel so overlooked, especially given the brand's usual standards. Ultimately, we took the lack of service as a sign of what was to come and decided to dine elsewhere. A real shame, as we were looking forward to the visit. Hopefully, this was just an off night, but it certainly left a poor impression. It's worth mentioning that we were not the only ones waiting, there were more people who came in after us, so it was a "full" waiting area, unfortunately full of everything but customer service. Update - - the restaurant we went to after this failure greeted us immediately and sat us all within 2 minutes despite being noticeably busier...
Read moreA picture can indeed speak volumes, but my recent visit to Mr. Mike's in Williams Lake tells a disappointing tale that demands attention. After giving this restaurant multiple opportunities to impress, I can confidently say this will be my last experience there. I was utterly disheartened when I received what could only be described as “burnt offerings.” To make matters worse, the manager outright denied my request for a refund, which felt alarmingly unjust.
Jaiden, the waiter, needs significant improvement in taking orders; he repeatedly gets my simple requests wrong. It's frustrating to spend my hard-earned money on a mediocre meal—it's a complete disservice to customers. The lack of appreciation for guest satisfaction is troubling! Moreover, how did I wind up paying an astonishing $74 for two meals? The excessive charges, along with their unwillingness to rectify the situation, are infuriating. It feels like a double blow. Jaiden struggles with handling these orders, as I've faced billing issues like this several times before with Mr.Mikes, nothing...
