My husband ordered food and was told there would be a 1 1/2 hour wait. Fair enough, it was New Years Eve and we expected for there to be a wait. We figured that the 1 1/2 hour wait time would be fine, and so my husband left to pick up the meal and was there at the expected time. He waited, along with a parking lot full of people, in the freezing cold for AN ADDITIONAL 3.5 HOURS! While many people recieved their order, who had arrived or ordered after them. He continuously asked them to check on the meal, but they told him they weren't "allowed" in the kitchen. On the third attempt to ask on the status on his order, he found out his order had been under heat lamps for 2 hours. At least 2 hours. So this whole time he had his order ready (1.5 hours late, but still late), while he waited and waited in the cold for our (now soggy, disgusting) meal. The waitress was kind and concerned, even though stressed because of the lack of organization. She took it upon herself to invite some customers inside to keep warm. It was obvious the store is not set up for success by management. When a discount was inquired, a 10% discount was offered. For food that was sitting under a heat lamp for 2 hours, and after waiting in the cold for 3.5 hours. Nice. Real generous. We used to order from Baby Panda all the time, but after this fiasco and absolute lack of care, pride, and customer service from the management: we would travel to Sackville or do without. An absolutely terrible experience, which could have been resolved with better organization, managerial service, and perhaps a free or better...
Read moreThe food was delicious, but the service was poor. Upon our party of six arriving, we were scolded for not being early and criticized for not ordering sooner. Apparently, dining here revolves around the restaurant's schedule. Later, chatting with friends who arrived after us, we discovered an even more absurd situation. Despite their reservation and early order, they were told there was no seating and no prepared dishes. After some reluctant arrangement, they were finally seated. However, the owner added an eerie tone to the atmosphere. Despite having kids who couldn't eat spicy food, she impatiently urged them to eat, complaining about the weekend rush. With each dish she brought to the table, she repeatedly muttered, "Eating, huh? Weren't you in such a hurry earlier? Why aren't you eating now?" It seemed she couldn't resist emphasizing how busy the restaurant was on weekends, suggesting we avoid coming on those days and opt for quieter Wednesdays or Thursdays. It was beyond bizarre—such a level of service, despite the delectable cuisine, has left us reconsidering...
Read moreUpdate (2022): I think it's under new ownership: the food was not as good as before, it was MUCH more expensive (and we were overcharged by a few dollars) coming out to over $20 a person for mediocre food plus tip on a takeout dinner-for-4, no drinks or extras. The fun drinks and authentic menu are gone, and Jenny no longer works there!
Given that Windsor isn't exactly known for its Asian food, I wasn't expecting a lot walking in to Baby Panda, but man was I wrong to assume. We had Jenny as a server who gave us excellent recommendations, was extremely charming, helpful, and welcoming. one of our party ordered from the regular menu and the rest of us asked for the authentic menu, and I couldn't recommend the authentic food more! Definitely ask for the other menu, it's a must. Also I feel it necessary to mention there are awesome vegetarian entrée options, the eggplant potato one is great. We all picked out fun exotic drinks from the fridge (again with the help of the lovely Jenny) and found TsingTao beer, which is a rare find in...
