La Taqueria Mexican Street Tacos — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Second update: Food quality went down, amount of meat has gone down, they have messed up four orders in a row and haven’t done anything to help. One order was so dry and black it was gross. Crystal told me they added cocoa…. Like come on guys.. Price has gone up this shouldn’t be happening to supposedly one of your best customers… I don’t even come here anymore. Came last week to give them a chance and food was okay but half as much of meat and flavour not there. Going down hill. Salsa msot of the time is too small and majority of the time I get one small slice of lime. Way over expensive for half as much of meat and dry. Less flavour for more money. Economy doesn’t control your cooking skills and portion skills so why increase price then? At least keep the portions and quality the same if your raising prices 4 Times… Disappointed been going here since they opened usually 2-3 times a week. Now I don’t go. I’ll go back to my normal spot as the prices barely went up same portions and same taste and quality.

Update: I’d say this place quality is going down. Im now at 4 star. This place has the best tacos in winnipeg. 16 and some change for 3 beef tacos But the amount of meat and quality of the ingredients are definitely worth it. Bmc market is awesome for the money but comparison in quality La taqueria...

I was excited to try the place but when I paid 16 dollars for 3 tacos that I was extremely disappointed at the flavours and portion sizes. I don't think I would even pay 8 dollars for the same meal in the future.

I tried the chicken and the beef tacos and they were just bland and dry. They included sides of salsa Verde and sour cream but sides were so small I could barely use it for 1 taco.

I'm not sure what was going on but I expected more flavour, more lime juice, more salt, more sauce, more tomato and seasonings, etc but what I got was my hopes up and was not at all satisfied. When you go to a restaurant you shouldn't be eating and wondering "how can I make this taste better since it's not that good"

After I finished my tacos I made more food since it wasn't very good. Even my kids barely touched it.

The 2/5 is being generous and only because the owners are nice the food was not what I was expecting, I've had better tacos in Mexico...

Ordered through Uber, I got the birria soup and cochinita tamal. As a Mexican myself, I was very excited to try given that there aren’t many authentic Mexican food joints here in Winnipeg that are good. I have to say I’m disappointed again.

The birria soup lacked flavour, there was no lime flavour in it and there wasn’t any wedges packed as they should be. The cilantro and onion were already in the soup which, is not a big deal, but traditionally it is given aside so you can put it in your soup fresh before eating.

The tamal wasn’t what I was expecting either. Again, no flavour and the masa was too mushy as if it were undercooked and didn’t have any colour nor flavour.

The only thing I wasn’t disappointed by was the jarritos I got to drink. I feel like if we’re going to sell “Authentic” Mexican food, as Mexicans in another country, it’s our duty to give the amazing flavours of our culture justice.

Won’t be ordering from here again but I do hope this is taken as...
