Dairy Delight — Restaurant in Winnipeg

This is one shop I missed out on during my visit over the holidays, but I am here to share this Manitoba foodie experience with all you searching for locally family owned spots that are rich in their customer service and the treats they dish out both Hot and Cold. The burger's are local favorites, I swear you could be having the worst day or week but once you stop into Dairy Delight, your troubles will be deleted when you sink your chops into melted cheese overlapping 2 hot juicy beef seasoned patties , you won't even think about the fresh soft bun that carries the loaded mess in between, as your jaw is too busy chewing and tasting the double cheese burger goodness, you just want to swallow it and stuff your face....or maybe that is just how I eat when I am hungry haha. I made the mistake of eating the burger and crisp onion rings to the point where this girl cannot eat anymore, I had to come back a few days later to try their Cold treats. The banana split is my absolute fav here! yes, it is true anyone can make a b-split. But does everyone make their own ice cream?! The B-split is my fav Cold treat in a dish, but if I am having cone fever, then I usually aim for the PUMPKIN PIE soft Ice cream. I had to add caps in that note because you don't want to miss that flavor, nor does your taste buds either. Please treat them well! haha. If you want it dipped into chocolate, then they will, if you want to add sprinkles on top, then sure you can get that too!! who needs those other guys that ends with a Q.... This is just one of the awesome family owned resto's in MB, you won't wonder why we are known as Friendly Manitoba after...

I usually really like this place but recently I've been kind of annoyed by how they run their place. They close 30 min early all te time and there has been 2 occasions where I've tried to pay for food but they don't take tap. Also I have been trying to call them for the last 20 min to tell them I can't come get my food as I can't find my debit card and they don't take tap but they have a voice mail on saying they are closed.

Update Ordered food tonight because we couldn't get it last night, and when I walked in, I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure they were talking bad about me saying "it's not hard to figure out what time we close" then the girl proceeded to give me a hard time about them having to throw out the food, well I tired to call and cancel it but there answering machine was only on saying they were closed at 630. Yes I did know from last time that they didn't have tap but I misplaced my card from the time I order to the pick up time so that's complete irrelevant. Love the food but unfortunately I'm turned off by the customer service so I don't think I'll be coming back.

Another update

These fries are either very old or frozen because they taste bad and are very stale. Seems kind of petty, my names not the one being tarnished here. One of my favorite restaurants too...

This place is an absolute gem! I do want to state right off the bat no Credit Cards, and Debit cards are charged $0.35 fee. Besides that this place is great. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food takes the perfect amount of time. Enough to sit and start chatting, but not too much that you start looking around. I got a Fat Boy, Fries, and Ice Cream. All. Were. Delicious! Fat Boy had great chili with nice spices, kinda like Old El Paso Tex Mex, pristine lettuce, pickles, cheese, mayo, tomato, onion. Will for sure be back for the Burger. The fries were good, not delicious, I lied earlier. The ice cream was delicious though, and a very large portion, very impressed. Overall I ate too much but am extremely satisfied. Will be back next time...
