New China Kitchen — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Pretty tasty food, one of the best Chinese pick ups in the area. It’s perfect for visiting seniors at the seniors home! And by that I mean …going to my parents house and bringing Chinese to have everyone get along for an hour and a half! They throw in the white rice and fortune cookies! 🥠🥠 All that u require after dinner is an American news station to bring it home! Politics! 👨‍⚖️👩‍⚖️👨‍⚖️ 📺 It’s laughable.

I’m just happy to gather with my family and eat some good Chinese! All I know is that my Chinese food places are top notch! 🥡I can’t imagine any Canadians having the same sort of worries. It’s a darn wonder how the rednecks living the in US manage, when they are only left with roadkill or crocodile or the who knows I hit with my car. Just saying! Thankfully in Canada we don’t have those worries! We like to eat other counties foods! Lots of good food around the world! This place is pretty good. They try hard and do their best in my experience. My chicken was awesome. Always melts in your mouth, tender and moist! No worries at this restaurant! A++ safe (jokes!) In reference to recent Trumpisms. This place is typical canadiana chinese food. Old school family restaurant. 👍👍 🍽️🍽️ Chicken balls, Shanghai noodles, 🍤🥡chop suey, fried rice, ginger beef, typical Chinese that you crave. Hot and sour soup is pretty well done with all the goods. 🍜🥢 Egg rolls, Spring rolls! U know what u are getting with the above order. This family restaurant has been a staple to the area. I wonder if they would consider adding in some set of dumplings and dimsum happy hour on a set day? I havent tried the wonton soup here and not sure why not. If I could give zero stars, I would. This is quite literally the worst restaurant I have ever stepped into. The atmosphere is poor at best. The food was nothing special and I'm fairly sure I had fish in a meal which, on the menu, only included chicken, shrimp, and beef. I will say the food was out in probably 15 minutes, which was okay since we had a party of 7. However, the hostess was the absolute worst hostess/waitress I have ever experienced. She is the reason for why I would never ever come back. She had us write all our orders on a small ripped sheet of paper and made sure that we did not use more than one sheet; she then proceeded to ask us all of our orders, even though we had just written them down. Up to this point, it was all tolerable. When we all got up to pay, however, was when everything fell to pieces. She would not let us pay with our credit or debit cards on orders under $10, which was almost everyone, and she never told us that before we ordered. She asked the first guy in our party if he was going to tip (her). She kept asking us to combine orders in order to get over $10, which we specifically told her at the beginning we were all separate. In the end, she rounded up most of our orders up to $10 so she could run the transaction. The last guy in our party ordered roughly $11 worth of food and was charged just under $17 so she could get some tip off of him. This was quite honestly the worst dining experience of...

Decided to give this restaurant another chance after reading more recent good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food I ordered was of good quality and very tasty. The Hot Honey chicken was nice and spicy and the Singapore noodles were hot and fresh and nicely spiced. I also had a combination plate that was very good. The portions were generous, delivery was quick and free with an order over $35. I was glad to see an improvement over my last experience. I will order from here again.

Decided to treat myself after not eating out for months and order from New China Kitchen. I used to order from there many years ago and really liked it. I am not sure if the cook was having a bad day, but everything I ordered was terrible. Dry breaded veal so tough and dry you could not chew plus it had a small bone in it, very doughy chicken balls with little sauce, grisely hot honey chicken, tasteless shanghai noodles.When I called the restaurant, they made no real effort to make it right. Just offered to send out new veal and some sweet and sour sauce. This was both a food and customer service fail. All food will go to the bin as it was terrible. Will not order from here again.
