Now I’m not one to ever write a review, especially a bad review but with this establishment I have A LOT to say. Gondola the Mcphillips location to be exact is by far the absolute WORST pizzeria in Winnipeg!!!!!!! I would avoid at all costs!! I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for over 12 years and I couldn’t believe the way we were treated after calling back in regards to how horrible our pizzas were. We ordered 3 XL 2 topping pizzas for my dads birthday and the bill came to $100…. Including tip. Absolutely outrageous if you ask me but because it was a special occasion it is what it is. Now when I tell you these pizzas were extremely over cooked, had little to no cheese, and had NO FLAVOUR!!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes that they would even feel comfortable with sending off pizza in this disgusting condition to a customer. When we called in to see what we could do about this, they said if we already ate some of the pizza there’s absolutely nothing they could do (like they weren’t going to throw it out if they picked it up anyways). No accommodation, no credit, no remakes. Just NOTHING! We had children over for the bday party… they were hungry and if you have kids you know how that gets when they’re hungry so of course some pieces were ate but when it came down to it, the adults refused. It was literally like eating cardboard!!!! It’s sad because not only myself but my dad has been ordering from here since the 1970’s and was one of our family staples. This will definitely be the last time we EVER order from here again. Shame on you Gondola for being so ignorant when it comes to running a business and being so unaccommodating. Normally Gondola Pizza is one of the best, correction the best pizza in Winnipeg but on Saturday we ordered the manager special and my personal favourite their thin crust pepperoni and mushroom with canned mushrooms I don't know if they changed the their cheese but I have to say it was the most disappointing Pizza that I've ever had from them it was just flat. I didn't phone to complain but this is the second time that their Pizza has been subpar compared to how it used to be. I have been a loyal gondola Pizza buyer for over three decades I have it on average once or twice a month and I can never say before the last two orders that I've ever had a bad pizza from them. This pizza was ordered for the McPhillips Street location I don't know if I should go back to ordering from the Henderson branch they're both about the same distance for me( I've lived on Saint Andrews for the last decade or so). Sorry it was such a long review I just felt that Gondola has always provided me with the best pizza in Winnipeg and it's sad when something you've loved for most of your life starts to go down the drain. I lived in Winnipeg, MB. Every 2 weeks I ordered Gondola pizza from the Mcphillips branch and sometimes in between. My favorite was pepperoni and mushroom thin crust. I never had a bad pizza...it was always delicious. Well i retired and moved to Kamloops BC June of 2018. One of the things i miss the most is Gondola's pizza, the best i have ever tasted. I have tried so many different pizza places here in Kamloops and nothing even comes close to Gondola. You may find it strange but it does bother me and has an effect that i can not get it here. My wish is that Gondola Pizza would find their way here. I know that they would blow all the other pizza places out of the water. Thank you Gondola for the best tasting pizza in the world and the many years you delivered it to my door. Dont change a thing...except maybe adding a few more new...
