Normally I LOVE JC tacos. The chicken enchiladas are my favourite! I convinced my work to order our lunch from here today and I wouldn’t shut up about how excited I was for my chicken enchilada. (My three vegetarian co workers couldn’t find an option on the skip app so they ordered from somewhere else. So that was disappointing) I have a mushroom allergy and we’ve ordered from here or eaten in well over 30 times without issue. We tell them about it and the food is made accordingly. Unfortunately three bites in a see part of a mushroom. I tear apart the whole enchilada and there’s no more. It’s clearly an accident, but I’m shaking and scared I’m going to go into anaphylactic shock. All my co workers look at the piece of mushroom. Yes, we all agree. It’s a mushroom. You can see the gills in the darker part. One co worker took a tiny nibble. Yes it’s a mushroom. I’m not removing the 5th star for that. Accidents happen. It’s how they responded when I called the restaurant that dropped my rating. They flat out argued with me three times that there was no chance there was a mushroom in my enchilada. Next time I suggest you be more sympathetic and apologetic in this situation. I was expecting, “oh my gosh! I’m so sorry! We thought we were careful with your order. Please report it on the skip app.” Instead of telling me the thing right in front of me is impossible. Especially when my life is on the line and I’m scared I might die or have to go to hospital. I was so disappointed. I ended up eating dumb subway instead. I still love their enchiladas, but I’ll be very nervous to eat from here again.

Thought I’d give this restaurant a try considering they have so many good reviews stating it was “authentic Mexican food”- but this is definitely far from it. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the first red flag for me was their rice. It honestly looked and tasted like Uncle Ben’s microwaveable rice. The second red flag for me was the chicken inside the enchilada. It was definitely not seasoned or marinated. Overall the food was bland and disappointing. I’ve ate at almost all of the Mexican restaurants located here in Winnipeg, and unfortunately this place is not it. You might as well save a few dollars and go to Taco Bell because that’s what I would compare the quality of their food to.

Wowed at JC'S Tacos and More Wow what a great eatery. We went here for Taco Week and we were not disappointed. This was our first time trying JC'S Tacos. We parked on the street just before JC's. This street is one way, please note, the next street is also one way and you can't turn right onto it. We entered from the front but there is a handicapped entrance at the rear. Once inside the staff was super friendly. The star of this trip was the food. These tacos were some of the best food I've ever tried. I loved it all and the green sauce was amazing. Go for Taco Week :) We will be going back.

I visited JC’s Tacos for my first time for dinner on September 10, 2020. The menu had a variety of Mexican inspired dishes. I ordered a taco platter and requested that it be made vegan. The platter came with three tacos, rice, salad and refried beans. The tacos were amazing and had grilled veggies and mushrooms, salsa and guacamole inside, on corn tortillas. Tasted fresh and flavourful! Vegan tacos weren’t on the menu but they were so accommodating with my request. I liked the colourful Mexican decor in the restaurant. They had tables available for dining in. Would definitely come back again!

JC's Tacos is a Central American gem. Based off southern Mexico and El Salvadorian cuisine, the flavors are dynamic and unique. The smell of the restaurant is off the charts and the atmosphere is true Latin America. They also sell Mexican food items at reasonable prices. The food is really good and the house made salsa is legit. All made fresh, while you wait and fully visible. If you like tacos, or loaded bowls, then this is the place. I'd call this place a tie for the best Mexican in Winnipeg w/ Sargent Taco Shop, with the disclaimer that both have completely different influences.

It’s Tuesday and I felt like a taco was necessary. Today I stopped at JC’s Tacos for lunch. It’s a cute and colourful restaurant. To start I tried the pork tamale. I’ve never had a tamale, but now I understand why people love them. I’ll be back for more. They were so good. For the main we had the chicken enchiladas and the barbacoa trio taco platter. Both were very satisfying and tasty. Both came with Mexican rice and a little side salad. The tacos also came with refried beans. JC’s Tacos is a huge step up from your regular taco stand. I highly recommend this restaurant!!
