Been meaning to write this up for a while now. First visited on July 16 to grab a quick lunch to eat at home. They are take out only so it's a pretty safe place during COVID, they were careful about masking and customer counts, but I haven't been back since the regulations changed. Anyway, the food is really good, they are expanding their dessert menu, have an extensive selections of vegetarian options and a nice assortment of simple sides. Even more fun, they have bulk deals and the empanadas freeze very well. They are nicer reheated in the oven but are still pretty good nuked too. The green sauce they serve is kind of bland to my taste, but every empanada I tried was delicious. My wife and I will heat up 2 different flavours and then each a half to try them out. 1 is a pretty good meal, especially if you have a side. Some of the flavours are a bit spicy, but I did not encounter anything so hot that it was unpleasant, but I'm not very adventurous when it comes to hot & spicy. Anyway, it is a staple in my take out list now, I've never been disappointed with anything I've tried there. The only problem is that parking on Grant is traffic controlled and I would not even attempt it during rush hour, but it's a short walk from the side streets on either side

Really good empanadas and other things to choose from.It has been made very well, with a flaky thin pastry rather than heavy pastry and fillings match the price point. Their spicy chimmichurri was a delight, you must control yourself to not have one too many. Their best part is the array of flavours. Something different and better than anywhere else and this regular spinach, ricotta, feta, peppers, chorizo etc. Surprisingly finding some odd even offerings like cauliflower bites, tabouleh, pasta, parmigiana and such as well as frozen hand made pastas and desserts(they looked really tempting) over here, will get to them on consequent visits. Must try: Morroco, lamb, spicy chorizo, steve B, good ones to start at: Spinach, spicy beef, corn, onion & mozza

It was interesting. I ordered the beef empanadas, la pampa, and Mexican. La pampa was my least favorite. There were too many grizzly bits and inedible parts. A friend noted all of the empanadas tasted similar because all the seasoning. The beef was the freshest. Overall will be back and my kids loved the regular beef. Also the beef is made fresh daily and the wrapper was fine.

Aug 22, 2023 Update: The owner of La Pampa contacted us and arranged for us to pick up a free order of empanadas. We did so and can report that the quality has been fixed. No more holes or cracks. Very impressed! Compared to a few years ago the quality has just cratered. The empanadas have holes in the crust and the fillings ooze out. Too bad. They used to be amazing.

$20 for four empanadas, not bad considering how delicious they were, we had the beef, four cheese, macaroni and corn. corn was definitely my favourite. friendly staff and clean environment. To be noted they are cold so you’ll need to reheat them yourself.

These empanadas taste EXACTLY the same as the ones we had in Buenos Aires. We bought enough for 2 meals because the selection was huge and we wanted to try so many. Next time I'll get two of everything so we don't have to share!
