I think I've found a great Chinese restaurant! The ordering process by phone was straight forward, and they were patient in answering my questions. The restaurant inside isn't very inviting. But, they don't have dine-in, so the look of the space doesn't really matter. My order, bread crumb shrimp and sesame chicken for take out, was ready on time and piping hot. The shrimp was delicious, though technically lightly battered, rather than breaded. From other restaurants, the shrimp inside is usually bland, and often the coating is too. From here, I think the shrimp is marinated before being cooked, as they had a very nice lightly seasoned taste. It also came with a lemon wedge, which at first I thought was odd. But actually, the lemon juice on top was nice touch. The sesame chicken was also good, as it wasn't over cooked and the sauce coating was just enough. However, I didn't like that most of the chicken pieces were cut up so small. Doubling their size would make the dish perfect. I'll definitely order the shrimp again and try some other dishes.

We’ve ordered from here quite a few times over the years and it’s never disappointed! I must say that today was especially on point. The sesame chicken morsels are small and crispy little bursts of flavour! Kai Ping special Loo mein was perfect, we were craving some noodles all week so these hit the spot! Mixed vegetables had a nice variety and were perfectly cooked with some crunch, not all slimy and mushy. Egg rolls and white rice came perfectly cooked as well! These items were all on point and nice portions to feed my partner and I for another meal tomorrow. Fresh, colourful, not greasy. Consistent all across the board without a single complaint with this Chinese takeout experience!!

If I could have given a zero for review I would have. This was the absolute worst Chinese food I have ever ordered. If you notice I say ordered, the reason being was of the 4 dishes and spring rolls that we ordered, only the spring rolls were eaten. The spring rolls were not that great but we were very hungry and tried our best but couldn’t get beyond the spring rolls. We ordered salt and spicy ribs they brought us squid, sorry couldn’t eat even if we had ordered this. The squid was like rubber and no flavour or spice. Next we ordered kungpa chicken which definitely wasn’t chicken, not sure what it was but texture of rubber and again no flavour and a big pile of peanuts in corner of dish. Ordered shanghai chowmein, rubber noodles and nothing else in dish, no veggies, no spices. If there was at least some flavour maybe I could have chewed on the noodles for awhile but awful. The breaded shrimp was close other than all the bread crumbs falling off shrimp sitting at bottom of dish. The rice was dry and hard so I couldn’t even eat this. I have never in all years of ordering Chinese food had such bad food that I couldn’t eat anything. I am in shock of how this place had such...

I really wanted to love this restaurant because it's so close by, right in River Heights. After two tries I likely won't go back as it just wasn't a great fit. First time I ordered the chicken in spicy peanut sauce and the chicken fried rice. Both were very bland and flavorless. I expected more especially from the chicken in spicy peanut sauce, given that it is listed as a house specialty. The second time I tried the cantonese chow mein and the crispy beef in spicy honey sauce, another "house specialty". The crispy beef was definitely better and had good flavor, but the chow mein was a big miss for me personally. Flavor was just okay, and the vegetable to meat ratio was way too high. Just a mountain of broccoli with other vegetables which aren't my favorite, like water chestnuts and mushrooms. If you are the type of person who likes a veggy heavy stir fry, you might fare better than I did.

Aside from the dishes themselves, the portions were not very large considering the price and that the restaurant is exclusively take out/delivery.

Simply put, for the price and the quality of food, there are much better...
