FYI: I judge how food tastes as well as the service of the restaurants, if you find my review too critical, I'm not sorry because I know what good service and food is like.
My friends and I came in, and we got seated right away. Though we had troubles finding what to get, it was unusual having to wait for the waitress for a bit after quite some time.
I ordered the appetizers of Chicken Fingers and Onion Rings. Chicken Fingers have different taste to the batter than your other typical restaurants which was fine. Onion Rings though was waaay too salty.
For the "main" I ordered the 'Black 'n Blue" burger. My first time tasting Blue Cheese so this part is maybe a bit too judgmental, but I am aware of how much of a distinct flavour blue cheese is and that it's not for everyone. The blue cheese was only on one side of the burger, not being spread out at all. Burger patty was squished too much compared to my friends. The blue cheese was a bit too much, the taste doesn't blend well with the other ingredients, just over powers every other taste so be wary. So I didn't end up finishing the burger. I would say it's better without the blue cheese. Also, it was at least 2 tablespoons worth of blue cheese.
The sweet potatoes were also salty too, but it is what it is, guess that's a way to season your food...
In terms of service, our waitress never asked how our food was, just the appetizers which was upsetting, but it did take her awhile until she came to ask if there was anything else we wanted. Which is upsetting, usually ask the customer how the food is after a few bites.
All in all, I would give it a 6/10 for food and service so. Take this for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWalked in and felt the lively vibes of this cute funky place, must say that I will have to check it out again to be able to describe the colourful , fun and bizarre decor , lights hanging randomly added the right fun element , jets and every child matters teeshirt did catch my attention, also the chalkboard that had the perfect scribble 'please seat anywhere , except not at a dirty tableāš
From bar stools to comfortable seating , to dining chairs could be seen all around , good choices .The smiling staff welcomed us , our hostess was super friendly and helpful , liked the fact that there was no dress code and looked pretty casual, her suggestions were great and we enjoyed the small bites and poutine was just out of the world . Enjoyed the avocado bites and the garlic bomb, dessert was deep fried cheesecake , frankly loved it , highly recommend, nothing like the usual cheesecake , totally sold on it , have to come back again for it and try the nachos. The fish and chips were average , I guess that was a wrong selection.
The service was pretty quick , though , surprisingly it was very busy, they do not take reservations so we came early thinking that there would be a long wait.
The music was not too loud and they had a good selection of beers , including local ones , the cocktails were average , would have liked few more. We tried a few drinks and also saw that there was a good selection of non alcoholic beverages.
Lot of gluten free options and vegan ones too, the bill is on the steeper side , but keeping in mind the rising cost of produce , I guess itās inevitable. Will be coming back soon , thank you for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a really bad experience here. I love going to leopolds on Osborne (both Osborne locations), but decided to try this location for onceā Boy did I regret it.
First off, service was terrible. We were a group of 3 eating out on the patio area. The two people I was with got there food 45 mins after ordering ( they ordered burgers and fries), but my food was no where to be found (I ordered perogies only). I watched my company eat their food for 30 mins, by the time the perogies came outā my company had already finished their food. My food came out hot and tasted okay, but my mood was ruined from waiting so long. The waiter did not even apologize for the delay. I understand the restaurant may have been busy, but to wait that long for simple perogies?? Crazy.
Secondly, I had notified our server that the table behind ours were smoking weed, we could smell it and the patrons were coughing with every puff. The server smiled and seemed unfazed, stating āyeah, itās legal now.ā I thought to myself, is this waiter daft? Itās illegal to smoke pot in public, your staff needs to educate themselves. Just as if one was drinking in a public area, permits need to be put in place for alcoholā I am not aware of any restaurant permits for patrons to smoke pot on restaurant patios. Iām not against weed, but I donāt want to be smelling second hand smoke while Iām eating, especially if it smells like skunk weed.
I hope you can educate and train your staff better so no one else has to...
