Went to this location on Monday night at around 10:00pm for a bite to eat and a couple drinks with some friends. We sat at the wood and we were having a great time. Our server was good, food was good, drinks were good. The Manager on staff served us a drink right before she received a phone call from the owner telling her that she needed to get everyone out of the place immediately. We understood that there were new health orders coming into effect at 12:01am (which was 50% capacity in bars and restaurants). This was at about 11:50pm and we had no problem at all paying our bill and leaving.
We payed the bill and immediately after we were told to chug our drinks and get out. I understand that she received orders to shut the place down, but she just served us drinks 5 mins before and we were trying to finish them before we left. We explained to her that we were just trying to quickly finish our drinks and we would be gone. This was not good enough. She then told us to leave them behind and to get out. As you could imagine, we weren't exactly happy about this treatment right after tipping 20% on our bill. It is also Manitoba liquor law that you are required to provide 30 mins to the customer after serving a drink. Then the security guards came over and asked us what the problem was. We told them that we were trying to quickly finish the drinks that we just payed for and we would be gone. Then one of them starts getting in our face and telling us to chug them or leave them behind and get out. I then asked the manager for a refund on the round of drinks so that we could leave and she said "not a chance". We ended up leaving our drinks full on the bar and as we were walking out the security guard kept lipping us off. There was no reason for this treatment as there was no breach in the health orders as we were the last ones left (so not even close to 50% capacity) and could have easily afforded us 5 or 10 mins to finish our drinks.
A good night that was ruined by two completely uninformed (had no idea how the restrictions affected them), poorly trained, arrogant staff members. Will not...

Not much parking, but it's easy to find a residential street nearby to park on.
Cozy and dimly lit but it's just the right amount of lighting to enjoy the food and the company. There is a big mirror along the outboard wall that helps you stay engaged with the restaurant as a whole
Ordered "small" Montreal Smoked Meat Poutine, without spicy mustard cause I'm not a mustard guy and it was great. My date got the same thing but with mustard and the fries looked a little bit drowning. The bowl it came in was dressed with shaved bits of the smoked meat and topped off with a breaded pickle on a pick. While eating it, I could not tell if the meat was salty or the gravy was. Very tender, and thin cut fries. Takes a bit of technique to get the ratio of fries to meet right but it's already so delicious half way through.
We shared "small" nachos with the blackened (seasoned) chicken add-on. This was the biggest plate of nachos that I've ever seen categorised as small. It was a mound maybe 4" high. the nachos were reminiscent of La Cocina chips and were just firm enough to support the cheese and adornments but forgiving enough to soak in them and get soft but not turn mush. The chicken was really good but not worth the $4.50 extra.
Solid experience. Didn't take pictures cause we ate the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy apartment next door to Leopoldoās on Academy in Winn, Man. went up in flames and they were the most hospitable employees Iāve ever encountered in my entire life, their generosity to welcome my husband and I into their establishment and provide us shelter, warmth, and a comfortable environment to unwind and have a family dinner as we were just about to sit down and eat when the entire building caught fire from an explosion which occurred from a vehicle that caught fire right outside of our bedroom window. Without their support, we couldnāt have survived this horrific event without them.
Thank you times a billion to all of the staff that worked on Thursday October 5th, 2023 through until October 6th, 2023 on the night of this natural disaster which has affected all 10 units and put us all out of our homes, and home businesses and left our families and children in danger and chaos that was devastating to our unit and the unit above ours along with our buildings laundry room. We have lost all of our family heirlooms and cash and valuables. Iām mortified about what comes next, but Iām grateful we lived in this neighbourhood and had the Canadian chain restaurant less than 10 feet away from our door, otherwise weād be worse off than not! Iād have been lost without discovering my new...
