Where do I begin? FIRST RED FLAG...when i ordered and was promised it would be delivered in 30 mins OR LESS. 🫤You never get GOOD Chinese food ON THE WEEKEND in less than an hour. NOT POSSIBLE. That should have been a clue. The fried rice can best be described as, overcooked boil rice, that was NOT fried, tossed with soya sauce and just was flavorless. I couldnt eat it. Texture was wrong. The shrimps looked like they were dropped in the oil several times, like they were on standby. Huge mound of glutinous rice mush and skimpy portioned of thrice fried battered shrimp. But wait then there was the breaded rib. Did not taste "Chinese" not even "Americanized", can't describe it. I love egg rolls, not these ones...they were deep fried burnt edges yet arrived at room temperature, and worse of all, soggy, like a limp noodle. We asked for 2 spring rolls and were sent 2 more of the steamed sog rolls. From 2 to 4 things to toss. The chop suey was given to our dog. He liked it. This place has been around for so long, I was curious to try it. Entire thing was put in the garbage didnt even bother to call and complain, in fear they would offer to resend our order. Clearly this food was cooked hours before and just microwaved. First and worse PTSD "Chinese" food experience ever. Maybe its new owners, or...
Read moreI've been looking for a new place since Gourmet Chinese restaurant retired & closed a couple years ago! They were the best! Can't find anything close to it in my neck of the woods! I used to like Mayflower 30years ago but then it changed hands or cooks or something & then it was not good! Thought I should give it another chance because I saw some good reviews here but it was a mistake! Still bad or bad again! The worst thing was the deluxe fried rice! I mean how bad could rice be right? They use some kind of small grain rice that appears to be cut even smaller & it is saturated in soy sauce &then they put some thin pork & thin strings of chicken roll & some miserable shrimps on top! I felt like I had no rice to have with my other dishes & the dry veal is popcorn veal! small morsels of breaded veal! It tastes ok but not much veal in the breaded veal? & Of course the lemon chicken is mostly greasy breading, The Cantonese chow mein was ok! I would never order from there again! Maybe the cook has changed since the good reviews or they have never had good...
Read moreWith the latest covid restrictions that took place on Mother's Day, our previous dinner plans were cancelled. We ordered a good variety of different dishes from Mayflower, wanting plenty of leftovers for meals later. We were NOT disappointed. Mayflower offers mostly take out, and occasionally offers delivery as well. We have used both. Mother's Day was very busy for them, and because of the occasion, we had to wait for about an hour to be able to pick up our order that we had phoned in. I arrive a little bit early and it was just being packaged up, still piping hot. Not sure what you would like? Try a variety of dishes each time, with a little something different each time you order. You are guaranteed to find at least one favorite with each order. We enjoyed a great Mother's Day Mayflower Chinese Food feast, and will continue to patronize this fantastic local small family...
