I have been going here for years. I can tell that the owners of old must have sold the restaurant to someone who hates their customers. To start the rice was days old. They served us old rice they didnt want to throw out. Then, We try to ordered chow mein. The server asked if we meant bean sprouts with dry noodles. I told her no, even argued that we wanted fried noodles. Whoever took the order insisted we have bean sprout chop suey. I told them I wanted chow mien noodles. They sent me the bean sprout chop suey anyhow with dry noodles in a bag. The beaf stew with bean cake had no meat in it. It was all cheap vegetables and tofu. The real insult was the fact they used rotten bok choy that had black mold on it in the dish. Something tasted off immediately. By the time we noticed they had closed. And we even tipped them for the abuse. Not only would I not recommend anyone going here ever I will be reporting this establishment for their...
Read moreWe ordered takeout. Prices are definitely lower than most other places around but that is because their food quality is abysmal. We got kung pao chicken, honey spicy beef, dry schezuan beef and deluxe fried rice. All meat dishes, even kung pao were heavily breaded. Portions were huge and I think their trick is using excessive breading in the meat so they can get away with less amount of actual meat. Also the meat inside was tough and bland. Kung pao chicken was like deep fried dough balls drenched in sauce, couldn't find any chicken inside the dough. Gross! Beef dishes weren't as bad but we'd never return. Also, the prices reflected in their web site menu are incorrect. Prices are higher than that. Moreover, the website states when your order is more than 40CAD, you get free item and 10%off on cash pickup. But in reality, the amount is 50CAD not 40. Owners need to update their website because as of now, they are doing false...
Read moreWe've been ordering from these folks for close to 20 years. Yeah, a couple times we've had wait times that we felt unreasonable, but when you order 4-5 times a year that's not a bad ratio in all this time. More important the food has always been consistent, in flavour, portion size (huge!) and quality. It often arrives so hot and well-packed you almost need oven mitts to handle the containers. And they always throw in extra goodies with our regular ~$70 order - wontons, fortune cookies, lots of sauce packets. We consider "the bomb" dishes are their spring rolls, honey sesame chicken, honey spiced beef with ginger and kung po shrimp. (the breaded veal has arrived over-cooked a couple times, and the lemon chicken has been inconsistent.) We've tried a couple other Chinese restaurants in our neighbourhood... higher price point and weren't...
