Manitoba Electrical Museum & Education Centre — Attraction in Winnipeg

A must visit place for everyone, especially young kids to know about the history and evolution of electrical accessories. It is a small museum, but with precious things to watch. I really appreciate the way that they have organized the things. You will be able to see olden day radios washing machine, oven, bulbs and Iron boxes. Quite interesting. For young kids they have few hands on presentation which they can explore by themselves. Please take your kids and visit. It's just 3$ per person in this fall during specific time. You can spend as much as an hour. People in the reception are very kind and they offer a mini tour for people visiting first time. I love the Ancient tram used in Winnipeg a rare thing to see....

The Manitoba Electrical Museum follows the history of Manitoba's electricity through six themes from the 1870s to the present and looks into the future. The lower level features a new exhibit, Sustainable Development: Caring for Our Common Future. Electricity and electrical safety movies can be shown in the orientation room on the lower level. This museum is so adorable. The staff/volunteers are so friendly and helpful, they seem to really enjoy being there. I was expecting more of a reading tour with not many activities so I was unsure how a child would take it. To my surprise, there were things to interact with just when the reading got "boring" to her which made pacing nice. There was also a little scavenger hunt with a prize at the end which I thought was a nice touch. There were even more interactive displays and things to do downstairs. My only complaints would be that I think one of the displays might be broken? And that I would have liked the museum to be open longer, it's impossible to take someone after...
