Nhu Quynh Restaurant — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Joined a friend on his recommendation for the famous Pho Thit Bo Sate(#30). I'm a big fan of Viet food and I have never heard of anyone else serving this dish in Winnipeg. An incredibly rich, complex and satisfying Pho. The broth is incredibly creamy but never too heavy and the noodles, bean sprouts and beef are perfectly prepared, the beef is a little rare but cooks in the broth when you mix it up or you can eat it rare as per your preference. Like all great food simple but very satisfying. I'm coming back to sample the Bun Bo Hue which is my favorite. Love the simplicity of the decor and the service is minimalist but if you're used to this it's not a big deal....

Best Bun Bo Hue in town. I ordered their bun bo before on Uber and came back in person to have it, and really satisfied both time. Their Pho is okay, not amazing tho, you can have better Pho at other places (e.g: Pho No. 1). Their Hu Tieu was pretty good too, not super flavorful but more of a clean taste. Staffs are nice but do not expect attentive servers or high-end services. They just gonna do the minimum (i.e: take your order, bring out your food, etc), if you need something you might have to stand up and walk over to grab their attention. Tbh, I don’t mind this but if you do, better order to take out or delivery.

Strangest thing today! The food was excellent, all 7 of us expected this because several diners had eaten here before. However when the seven of us wanted to sit together they would NOT allow us to move 2 tables together! With 10 or 12 tables and only two of them occupied they were willing to watch us walk out and go elsewhere rather than accommodate us as one group, we asked repeatedly! Finally one of our group managed to convince someone and we stayed. Probably $140 in sales that they gained, must be nice to be so rich you send away patrons when your restaurant is empty!
