My friend and I came here for brunch the other day (SUN MAY 8/22) and we were absolutely delighted by the food! I ordered the chicken and waffle and it was, without a doubt, one of the best meals I've had -- and for the same price as lesser quality meals elsewhere! (I had assumed that I'd be paying much more here, as the place had always appeared fancy, so I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability.) Their tea selection is also expansive and fantastic. (I loved the Black Skyline Chai, and you're even able to purchase loose tea to bring home). Same with their desserts! (We had the chocolate cake, of course. And let me tell you, the slice that they give you is double the size most places give you -- for the same price. Shocking, really! The halved slice is shown in the photo.) I will 100% be coming back. ~ UPDATE (2 weeks later, SAT MAY 28/22): I came back for a dinner date with my fiancé and while clearly shortstaffed, our service was still very friendly and the food was excellent. They were also 100% accomodating of his various allergies and he was even able to have dessert (which is incredibly rare!). I ordered the pork tenderloin with burgundy oolong tea and lemon chiffon cake for dessert. My fiancé ordered the beef in red wine with jungle juice and the rose & orange infused cinnamon bun for dessert. Ultimately, it was such a relaxing (safe) night out and I wanted to commend our server for her good attitude during the staff shortage! I didn't catch her name but she did not let the situation get to her and was a pleasure talking to. <3 . We will be adding this restaurant to safe places for my fiancé to eat at, and will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

First time at Promenade with the new ownership. This place might be one of my go to's now. As a first time, we had to go with the chicken & waffles, eggs benedict and their smashed potatoes. The chicken was delicious and their waffles were a cake waffle and I think that really made it blend well with the fruit compote on it. There was also some chili oil and spicy aioli for a nice little kick. Partner had the eggs benny with the arctic char and did she ever love it! The bannock on the bottom really elevated the dish as well. Their smashed potatoes might be one of my favourite potatoes in the city, had the right crunch outside, soft in the inside and seasoned very nicely. My only thing about our visit was that there was an odd "wet towel" smell when we entered. Our noses got used to it but it was still evidently there. Not sure if they were wiping the tables with the wrong cloths or some weird solution but just a heads up to the restaurant about that! I am definitely going to be going back to try out their smash burger and more dishes! Everything on the menu sounded so delicious so expect to see me a few more times!

Reservations recommended. The website may not indicate gluten-free but I had messaged their instagram acct and the GM responded right back, indicating that yes there are plenty of options. I appreciated the response along with the link for reservations he sent. The gf bread actually is done quite well. Bruce was our server and he was gluten sensitive and reassured us of safety precautions taken for this allergy. He had the BEST tableside manner. Friendly and made me laugh over and over. Plenty of parking when we arrived. It was small, clean and tidy. The food was incredible. I can't fault it. I was looking for something to critique and the only thing I could come up with is the menu's and paper signs up all looked like they could be replaced with new ones as the paper looked like it had seen some moisture. That's it, and that's me looking for something. It was huge portions, lots of flavour, the server was attentive, quick service..overall..gold star. Great job!

This restaurant is under new ownership. I deleted my previous review since it's a new start for them. I noticed they made it into ciao magazine as one of the best from 2023 I believe. Coming into this restaurant was like coming home to old friends. For my friend who invited me, it was, as he did know our server. There was a very comfortable casual vibe. The service was very warm and friendly. I ordered their smash burger 16 (4.5 stars) and the smashed potatoes 6 (5 stars). I thought the combination of pork and bison was genius since bison is a bit dry and the pork fat would balance it nicely. I'm also a big fan of a brioche bun. This restaurant is right in my neighborhood so I will update my review after going a few more times. This is my initial review. Parking is free and available in a small lot shared with a few other businesses.

I had a group of 30 at the Promenade Brasserie for a late Friday night dinner. Mark Adam and his staff provided exceptional service for our group. We had a reservation for 26, but they were able to accommodate a late addition of 4 extra people. They placed us in one room of the restaurant, which greatly facilitated pre-dinner mingling. The food was excellent, I had the bison short ribs and the tarts de sucre. Others told me that the three sisters bowl was also excellent. The beer selection of local canned beer was well curated; the Rotbier was especially good. The view of the river and bridge were a great backdrop to this gathering. The service was truly above and beyond what I generally receive at restaurants. I will be recommending this restaurant to anyone that is heading to Winnipeg

A few of us went for brunch on Fathers Day and had a pretty good experience overall. All of the employees were very friendly. Service was a lot slower than we would have liked, though. It took 45 minutes before anyone even took our food order... we were ready to order as soon as the waitress brought our drinks to the table but then she just walked away. Once we did get our food, everyone thought it was delicious. I would absolutely recommend the chicken and waffles. The flavors went together so well - I really enjoyed this one. It's a bit pricey but a nice treat. The coffee was pretty good too! The establishment itself is cute and cozy. I'd like to come back to try the burger in particular, and at a time when it's not so busy, to see if the experience is a slightly better one.
